Day 1: Arrive Bangalore
Arrive at the airport in Bangalore where you will meet a tour guide for registration and check-in ahead fo the start of your journey. Following high tea and a visit to Chitrakala Parishad for a cultural show, you’ll then head for the train station to board The Golden Chariot and set off on the journey to Mysore.

Day 2: Mysore – Kabini
Having arrived at Mysore station, you’ll enjoy breakfast onboard before travelling to Kabini for a one night stay at the Jungle Lodge. Following lunch, you’ll head out into the Nagarhole National Park for a drive through the dense jungle to track the local wildlife, which includes tigers, leopards and Asian elephant. After an early evening screening of a wildlife film, you’ll head back to the lodge for your evening meal.

Day 3: Kabini – Mysore
Your day will start with a further safari in the dense jungle, but this time on water as you continue to seek out the local wildlife. Following breakfast, it’s back to the railway station to rejoin the train in time for lunch before an excursion to the town of Srirangapatnam, which is located on a river island surrounded by the Kaveri. Having explored the area inside the city walls, you can also pay a visit to the nearby Daria Daulat Bagh palace, built back in the 1780s by the Mysore Kingdom leader Tipu Sultan. You day ends with a cultural show and dinner before climbing back onboard the train to continue with your journey.

Day 4: Mysore – Hassan – Hospet
Following breakfast on the train, you’ll head for Hassan for a series of excursions. The first of these will see you visit the Jain pilgrimage centre at Shravanabelagola, where you’ll also see the huge statue of Gommateshvara which towers over the area from the top of a nearby hill. After lunch back at the train, you’ll visit the temples at Belur and Halebid before getting back onboard to depart for Hospet.

Day 5: Hospet
After breakfast, you’ll head to the village of Hampi, which can be inside the famous ruins of Vijaynagara. The morning is spent exploring the ruins, which are now a World Heritage site and include the Queen’s Bath, the Elephant Stables and numerous temples. The afternoon is then set aside for a visit to the Vittala Temple on the banks of the Tungabhadra River, which is well known for both its architecture and its many complex and intricate carvings.

Day 6: Hospet – Badami
Following an early departure from Hospet, you’ll travel to Badami for a sightseeing tour of the town’s Cave Temples, which date back thousands of years and are found in the sandstone outcrop that stands above the town. Following a further trip to the temples located at Pattadakal, its back to the train to depart for Goa.

Day 7: Badami – Goa
An early arrival in Goa is the precursor to a day to explore the local area, starting with a number of the famous churches to be found in Old Goa, including the Chapel of St Catherine and the Basilica of Bom Jesus; the latter being the most famous of all. After a visit to an old Portuguese house, you’ll be able to relax with some time at the Majorda Beach Resort before rejoining the train for the departure to Bangalore.

Day 8: Bangalore departure
Having returned to Yeshwantpur Railway Station, you’ll be transferred to Bangalore International Airport to board a flight for home.
