Day 1: Arrive in Beijing
On arrival into Beijing, collect your luggage before meeting with your DA representative who will help transfer you to your chosen accommodation.

Day 2: Beijing
Spend a full day exploring some of the sights around the Chinese capital city, beginning with a tour through the Temple of Heaven; a tranquil park that features a number of buildings and altars set in groves of cypress trees. Break up the day with an enjoyable lunch of authentic Beijing Noodles before continuing on to the famous Tiananmen Square. Take a walk through one of the world's largest public squares to see many monuments and finally step through the gates to the Forbidden City to walk in the footsteps of emperors. There is an optional tour through The Palace Museums Chinese porcelain collection before the day comes to an end after a Beijin roast duck dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 3: Beijing
An early start will allow you to head out of central Beijing to visit the remote Mutianyu section of the Great Wall of China. Surrounded by woodland and streams, the Mutianyu section is one of the most picturesque parts of the Great Wall. You’ll be able to ride by cable car onto the wall itself in order to explore 22 of the walls incredible watchtowers before departing. After lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll head back to Beijing an en route, if the traffic permits, you can stop to take in views of the Birds Nest, the Beijing National Stadium and Water Cube National Aquatics Center (at own expense).

Day 4: Beijing – Xian
Your final day in Beijing sees you taking the opportunity to visit the stunning Summer Palace; one of the most impressive, preserved imperial gardens in the world. Enjoy a local lunch at a restaurant before transferring to the railway station to continue on to Xian. You'll be met by your guide on arrival and transferred to your hotel.

Day 5: Xian
Today you’ll have the chance to visit arguably the main highlight of the area around Xian with a trip to marvel at the stunning Terracotta Warriors; a collection of sculptures depicting the army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang which stand guard over his tomb. Regarded as one of the most important archaeological excavations of the 20th century after being discovered by farmers digging in the 1970s, the Warriors are now a major draw for tourists keen to marvel at the terracotta army. Enjoy a tasty lunch at a local restaurant before taking a relaxing walk along the Xian City Wall; some of the best-preserved walls in all of China which date back to the 2nd Century B.C. Your day continues with a wander through the Muslim Quarter to see the Great Mosque and how mainland Asia has influenced the region.

Day 6: Xian - Guilin
After time in the old city of Xian exploring the Shaanxi History Museum and sampling some Dim Sum, you’ll take a flight to the scenic city of Guilin on the banks of the Li River. Meet with your guide on arrival to transfer to your accommodations and spend the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Day 7: Guilin - Yangshuo
Take in the sights as you cruise gently across the Li River between Guilin and Yangshuo. See local farmers tending to their rice paddies and water buffalos cooling off as you navigate the twists and turns of the river. Disembark at a small village for the chance to visit a local family home and enjoy a lunch back on board the boat. Your next experience sees you biking across Yangshuo's landscape to see the rice paddies, orchards, farm houses and mountain backdrop.

Day 8: Yangshuo
Today sees you embarking on a full day tour of Dazhai Village. Located in a remote mountainous region, the village is populated by a minority known as the Red Yao. Meet some of the locals and take pictures of the wooden homes and local attire. Enjoy some authentic Dazhai cuisine for lunch and, if you're visiting in June, you'll have the opportunity to see the village during the local Cloth Drying Festival when songs, dancing and bonfires take place.

Day 9: Yangshuo - Shanghai
Spend the morning at your own leisure before catching a flight from the Guilin Airport to Shanghai. A multicultural metropolis, Shanghai is filled to the brim with sights and sounds, so on arrival you can spend some time familiarising yourself with the area at your own leisure after settling in to your accommodation.

Day 10: Shanghai
You'll have a chance today to explore Shanghai's Old Town and Yuyuan Garden before checking out the wares of the Old Bazaar. Enjoy a nice Shanghai lunch before heading out to the mega-tall skyscraper, the Shanghai Tower. Take in the amazing views from the 121-floor tall structure before watching an evening acrobatic performance at the Shanghai Era Acrobatics Theater.

Day 11: Shanghai
Spend the morning exploring the water town of Zhujiajiao which includes a boat ride before enjoying lunch at a local Chinese restaurant. Spend some time wandering around the arts and antiques of the Shanghai Museum and spend the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Day 12: Depart Shanghai
Transfer to Shanghai Pudong Airport in the morning for your return flight home.
