Day 1: Arrive Phonm Penh
Arriving in Phnom Penh, you’ll be transferred to your hotel to check-in before heading out to start your exploration of the city. A sunset river cruise will provide the opportunity to marvel at the many delights of the riverfront before enjoying a Khmer welcome dinner in a local restaurant.

Day 2: Phnom Penh
Experience the delights of Phnom Penh in unique fashion as you take to the streets with your driver in a traditional Cambodian Cyclo. First up, you’ll head for the famous Buddhist temple of Wat Phnom before continuing along the riverfront to the Royal Palace; where there is chance to marvel at the huge collection of Buddhas in the Silver Pagoda. From there, you’ll be granted the opportunity to delve into Cambodia’s recent dark history at the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, with the option of then visit the popular Russian Market. The day then ends with the chance to see locals going about their business along the riverside area, where various activities will be taking place.

Day 3: Phnom Penh – Kampong Cham – Kratie
Leaving Phnom Penh behind, you’ll hit the road towards the former French trading post of Kampong Cham, where you’ll enjoy a tour of the town centre before heading for the 11th century temple at Wat Nokor. From there, you’ll continue on to Kratie Province and board a boat to Koh Trang Island, where the rest of the afternoon is yours to spend at leisure. The spectacular sunset in the evening is sure to be a highlight.

Day 4: Kratie
After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll drive along the banks of the Mekong to the village of Kampi where you’ll board a local boat to go dolphin watching. A trip to Wat Sorsor Mouy Roy in Sambo follows along with lunch before heading back to Koh Trong. Once you return, you’ll be able to plant a tree at the local Wat, with the option to then head out by horsecart or bicycle to explore further.

Day 5: Kratie – Kampong Thom
Following breakfast you’ll return to the mainland and head for Kampong Thom, stopping off to climb the 980 steps to the pagoda at Phnom Santuk Mountain; the end reward being stunning views of the surrounding area. On arrival in Kampong Thom, you’ll check into your hotel before a leisurely afternoon by the pool or cycling along the river.

Day 6: Kampong Thom – Siem Reap
Enjoy a visit to the hidden gem that is the pre-Angkorian site of Sambor Prei Kuk and marvel at the temples that are scattered through the forest before visiting a nearby village to see locals producing their wares. You’ll also be able to enjoy a simple but tasty lunch prepared by the local community near the temple before continuing on your journey to Siem Reap, where the remainder of the day is yours at leisure.

Day 7: Siem Reap
One of the highlights of the trip awaits when you wake early to see the sun rise over Angkor Wat; a temple known throughout the world and a symbol of the Cambodian nation. After breakfast in the nearby Angkor Cafe, you’ll have chance to explore the temple - built during the reign of King Suryavarman II in the early twelfth century - in more depth. Having marvelled at the stone carvings found within, you’ll head for the countryside around the Western Baray to visit Angkor Silk Farm; seeing the process that is involved in creating stunning silk weavings before heading back to Siem Reap for a mid-day break.  Later in the afternoon, a busy day continues with a trip to picturesque temple of Ta Prohm, which is slowly being reclaimed by the jungle around it. A stunning sunset then brings a memorable day to a close.

Day 8: Siem Reap
Your day begins with a trip to the ancient city of Angkor Thom, known as being the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire. Entering the walled city through the South Gate, you’ll be able to marvel at the intricate carvings before heading to the Bayon Temple in the centre of the city. The opportunity to visit the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King shouldn’t be missed before leaving the city to travel to the Tonle Sap Lake. Boarding a local boat, you’ll head out onto the largest freshwater lake in South East Asia to visit the village of Kampong Phluck, where homes are raised on stilts for the periods of the year when the lake swells in size. Passing by floating houses and flooded forests along the way, you’ll get a true insight into life on the lake before returning to Siem Reap.

(Due to low water levels during the dry season, the boat trip is only possible from June to March. However a visit to an alternative floating village at Chong Kneas can be arranged instead.)
Day 9: Siem Reap
Following breakfast, you’ll head for Beng Mealea, where you can head into the jungle to visit an overgrown temple that remains as it was found having lain undiscovered for centuries. After a morning of adventure exploring the site, you’ll sit down for a packed lunch before leaving for Banteay Srei to visit the unique pink sandstone temple that is famed for its stunning Khmer artwork and design. As you return to Siem Reap, you could have chance to stop off and visit some of the local communities; seeing how rice paper is produced and sampling goods like Palm Wine.

Day 10: Siem Reap – Battambang
If you are travelling in the high water season from July to December, you’ll board a boat to cruise to Battambang across the Tonle Sap Lake, passing by floating houses in stilted villages as you journey to Battambang. If travelling from January to June, the same trip will be made by road. On arrival in Cambodia’s second city, you’ll check into your hotel before being given the afternoon at leisure to either explore the town or to simply relax by the pool.

Day 11: Battambang
Spend the day exploring the countryside around Battambang, starting with a trip to Phnom Sampeua to visit the small temple and to take in the views from one of the few hills in the region. The notorious killing caves located here give a cruel reminder of Cambodia’s troubled past. There then the follows the unique experience of a ride on the famous Bamboo Train, with alternative sightseeing offered if the train isn’t running. You’ll then travel to the mountain top Wat Banan temple before the afternoon is set aside for exploring some of the local cultural villages, where you can examine a number of Cambodian treats.

An optional trip could provide the chance to visit the Phare Ponleu Selpak School of Music, Visual & Performing Arts for further entertainment, with circus shows available on both Monday and Thursday.
Day 12: Battambang - Kampong Chhnang - Oudong - Phnom Penh
Leaving Battambang behind, you’ll journey to Kampong Chhnang to explore traditional Cambodian pottery before passing through a number of rural villages as you head to the former capital Oudong for a Khmer lunch. You’ll then climb to the top of Oudong Mountain to take in views of the plains below before your journey back towards Phnom Penh continues. After a brief stop amongst the silver workshops of Koh Chen, you’ll arrive in Phnom Penh and check into your hotel. That evening, you’ll enjoy a farewell dinner ahead of your final night.

Day 13: Phnom Penh departure
Enjoy time at leisure before your transfer to Phnom Penh International Airport for your trip home.
