Day 1: Siem Reap
Arrive into Cambodia to start your tour, with an English-speaking guide on hand to escort you to your hotel where you’ll be able to relax at leisure for the remainder of the afternoon. That evening, you’ll be treated to a special Khmer welcome dinner with entertainment coming in the former of a performance of a traditional Apsara dance.

Day 2: Siem Reap
An early start is a must in order to catch the stunning sight of the sun coming up over the tower of Angkor Wat before returning to the hotel in time for breakfast. You’ll return to Angkor Wat in order to pay a proper visit to one of the most famous temples in Cambodia; one that appears on the national flag given its important to the Khmer people. You’ll then head off to the overgrown ruins of Ta Prohm before returning to your hotel for a break from the mid-day heat. In the afternoon, you’ll journey out to the ancient walled city of Angkor Thom. Entering through the South Gate, you’ll head for the city centre to the Bayon Temple; famed for its grandeur and the 54 towers that were built to represent the 54 provinces of the Great Khmer Empire. The Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King are also worthy of further exploration before you return to your hotel to relax.

Day 3: Siem Reap – Kampong Chhang
High Water: Gather at the meeting point at noon before being transferred to your ship, where a welcome drink and buffet lunch awaits. You’re trip then gets underway with a relaxing afternoon on the Tonle Sap Lake with dinner served onboard before the ship anchors for the night midstream on the Tonle Sap River.

Low Water: Gather at the meeting point after breakfast and join a transfer along the Mekong River to Kampong Cham, where you’ll board your boat and enjoy a welcome drink. You’ll then set out on your cruise with the boat anchoring for the night in Angkor Bang – where you’ll sit down a welcome dinner onboard.

Day 4: Kampong Chhang – Wat Hanchey
High Water: The ship will be back underway before dawn, allowing you to take in the view of spectacular marshlands as you rise. Enjoy an invigorating Tai Chi lesson as the sun comes up before you cruise along the narrow Tonle Sap before a stop to visit a Khmer-style pottery. You’ll then continue along the river to Kampong Cham, enjoying an ox-cart rally and being introduced to a local literacy project en-route before dinner.

Low Water: You can start the day with a Tai Chi lesson on deck before your day begins with a trip to the Wat Hanchey temple – located on the top of a hill and offering some of the most stunning views in Cambodia. There is the option of either climbing the 303 steps to the top, or of taking the more relaxing ride by taxi. Once at the temple, you can spend time talking with the local monks before returning to the ship to witness a blessing ceremony and to enjoy lunch. The afternoon includes a visit a small silk weaving village before your cruise along the Mekong continues.

Day 5: Wat Hanchey – Kampong Tralach
High Water: After a night cruising along the river, you’ll disembark at the temple of Wat Hanchey, where you can climb the 303 steps to the top or take a more relaxing ride in a taxi to marvel at the impressive views from its hill-top location. Speak to local monks and then enjoy a blessing back at the ship before continuing onward to Wat Nokor – a wat built within the ruins of an ancient temple.

Low Water: The day starts with a visit to the pottery at the Aundaung Russey Village before time exploring the wetlands, floating houses and fishing farms that can be found in the region. In the afternoon, your cruise then continues along the river towards Kampong Tralach where you can visit the Heritage Line Linblad National Geographic library project. Dinner will then be served as the ship continues onwards towards Phnom Penh.

Day 6: Phnom Penh
Arriving in Phnom Penh, you’ll spend a day exploring the city, starting out with a visit to the infamous Killing Fields for a stark reminder of the genocide that took place during the regime of the Khmer Rouge. Further insight comes on a tour of the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, whilst your time in the city will also include lunch at a local restaurant, as well as trips to the Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda, as well as the National Museum. Having returned to the ship, you can relax before the evening activities – including cocktails and a BBQ dinner before a traditional Apsara dance performance.

Day 7: Phnom Penh – Border Crossing – Tan Chau
Start the day with Tai Chi if you wish before breakfast and a comprehensive talk on the modern history of Cambodia. You’ll then enjoy a lazy voyage along the river to the border with Vietnam. Once the border formalities are complete, the trip will continue onwards to Tan Chau, where the anchor will be dropped for the evening.

Day 8: Tan Chau – Sa Dec
High Water: After a hearty breakfast onboard, you’ll enjoy a short tour around Tan Chau; visiting the local market before catching a boat to a nearby fish farm. After gaining an insight in Vietnamese life alongside the river, you’ll return to your ship to continue onwards towards Sa Dec.

Low Water: Begin the day with breakfast before a tour of Tan Chau and a trip out to local floating fish farm. If the afternoon, you’ll visit My An Hung Village before the ship continues on its way to Sa Dec in the afternoon.

Day 9: Sa Dec – Cai Be – My Tho
Take a ride on a tradition Sampan to tour Binh Thanh Island and its man-made canals before returning to the ship for lunch. You’ll then arrive in Cai Be to visit the floating markets and have chance to take in rural life alongside the river – with a number of stops to observe how a variety of goods are produced. You’ll then cruise into the evening towards My Tho, with a farewell party on the terrace deck.

Day 10: My Tho – Ho Chi Minh
Continuing to wind your way along the river, you’ll arrive in Ho Chi Minh for the end of your cruise, where a guide will be on hand to help with the transfer to your hotel through the madding crowds of the city. Having checked into your hotel, the remainder of the day can then be spent at leisure.

Day 11: Cu Chi – Ho Chi Minh
Leave the city early to travel to the Cu Chi district, where you can gain an insight into what life would have been liked a member of the Viet Cong – visiting the tunnels used by resistance fighters during both the French and American wars. The trip to and from the tunnels allows you to journey through rice paddies and to see locals going out their daily business before you enjoy lunch and an afternoon touring Ho Chi Minh. Visit either the War Remnants or History Museum, as well as the former Presidential Palace and the major sights of the city – such as the Old Saigon Post Office and the Opera House.

Day 12: Depart Ho Chi Minh
After breakfast, you’ll head for the airport for your departure flight.
