Day 1: Windhoek
After arriving at Windhoek Airport, you’ll transfer to the capital city, located in the heart of Namibia in the Khomas Highland area. The remainder of the day is yours at leisure to explore a city that mixes modern and traditional cultures, fashions and architectural styles.

Day 2: Windhoek - Namib Desert
Heading away from the capital, you’ll head for your accommodation in the Namib Desert, close to the gateway to the impressive Sesriem Canyon and the salt and clay plan at Sossusvlei; which is surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes to be found anywhere on the planet. Having arrived at your resort, the remainder of the day can be spent relaxing by the pool or making the most of the optional activities that are offered to guests.

Day 3: Namib Desert
Rise early to witness the dramatic sunrise across the imposing sand dunes, creating a magnificent contrast of colours between the land and the sky. You’ll then have the opportunity to walk up one of the huge dunes at Sossusvlei to take in stunning views of the desert landscape that surrounds you before heading for the Sesriem Canyon, a natural canyon carved into rock by the Tsauchub River.

Day 4: Namib Desert - Swakopmund
Today you’ll head towards the coast through the desolate hills of the Kuiseb Moon Valley, stopping off to visit the shallow lagoon that is seen as one of Africa’s most important wetlands. While there, you’ll hopefully have the chance to marvel at African flamingoes coming to get water, with groups in their thousands known to descend at once. Continuing on to the coast resort of Swakopmund, the remainder of the day will be spent at leisure.

Day 5: Swakopmund
Spend a day enjoying the sights around Swakopmund, with time to spend exploring the sandy beaches or relaxing at your hotel. Alternatively sample some of the activities available in the area, ranging from walking tours to dolphin cruises, and from scenic flights to quad biking (all own cost).

Day 6: Swakopmund – Damaraland
Head north from Swakopmund via the dramatic Brandberg mountain into the diverse region known as Damaraland, a rocky environment which is home to rare desert elephants, black rhino and antelope. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet the Damara people for an insight into local life.

Day 7: Damaraland – Etosha National Park
Pay a visit to the heritage site of Twyfelfontein to see painting created by bushmen more than 6000 years ago before exploring the the Burnt Mountain, Organ Pipes and the Petrified Forest. After a visit to a traditional Damara village you’ll continue to your lodge on the edge of the Etosha National Park, with the rest of the day at leisure on arrival.

Day 8: Etosha National Park
The day is spent exploring the wildlife to be found in the Etosha National Park, where you can hope to see four of the Big Five of African wildlife – the elephant, lion, leopard and rhino. Alongside those, there will be the chance to see a wide array of birds and mammals on game drives in the area.

Day 9: Etosha National Park
You’ll spend a second day enjoying game drives around the National Park for further encounters with the wildlife before travelling on to your overnight lodge for an evening at leisure.

Day 10: Windhoek
Following breakfast, you’ll leave your lodge to head to Windhoek to visit the craft markets in the main street before heading for the airport for your return flight home.
