Owensboro is also known for its barbecue - a magnet for lovers of smoky pork, chicken, and mutton, a distinctive regional favorite. Try it at the Moonlite Bar-B-Q Inn and Old Hickory Bar-B-Q (Southern Living put both on its list of the top 50 barbecue joints in the southern US) or numerous smaller barbecue joints.
