It can be hard to choose just one island in the Seychelles – so we recommend you visit a few, if time allows. Each island within this beautiful archipelago is unique, with its own attractions, character and ambience.
Explore the main island of Mahé with its mountainous landscape and bustling capital, Victoria. Take time out on tranquil Praslin Island, where you’ll also find two UNESCO World Heritage Sites. And step back in time on La Digue, where oxcarts are the main form of transport, and the beaches are peppered with shacks selling coconuts and local rum – a truly authentic Seychelles experience.
An island-hopping itinerary allows you to explore between two and four islands. Speak to our Travel Specialists to find out more, and let us tailor every detail to suit you.
Praslin is a 20-minute plane journey from the main island, Mahé. It’s the second-largest island in the Seychelles archipelago, but it’s still tiny – you can still get around the whole island in about two hours. Set off on a bike ride to explore the island and you’ll soon see traditional villages and quaint little churches. You might even stumble across a hidden beach, which you can enjoy all to yourself. Make sure you also discover the mysterious Valée de Mai. It's the world’s largest Coco de Mer plantation, right at the heart of Praslin National Park.
La Digue is just a 15-minute ferry from Praslin, but you’ll feel like you’ve sailed back in time. As soon you set foot on La Digue, the clock slows right down and it’s impossible not to fall into the ‘island time’ lifestyle. Soak up the laidback atmosphere as you hop on to the most popular mode of transport – a colourful oxen-drawn cart. La Digue is home to 18 beautiful beaches, as well as plenty of wildlife. Follow any walking trail and you’ll journey into a rich forest full of fluttering Seychellois birds.
Your final stop sees you heading to the mainland of Mahé, a 90-minute ferry ride from La Digue. It’s the largest island in the Seychelles and home to the archipelago's capital, Victoria. With more than 65 beaches dotted around the island, this place will truly spoil any sun-seeker. But nature-lovers will be equally impressed with Morne Seychellois National Park, where there are walking trails for all abilities. Take in the beautiful scenery, inhale different scents from the flora, explore tree-dotted mountains, and keep your eyes peeled for colourful native birds.
