Overview

Kick off your 12-day tour of South America in Chile, Santiago with visits to Santa Lucia Hill, San Cristóbal Hill, the Santiago Metropolitan Cathedral, and more. You’ll then head to coastal towns Viña del Mar and Valparaíso for some exploration and seaside breeze. Next up is Argentina, starting in Buenos Aires. Do some sightseeing here before heading to the Pampas area to see the South American cowboys – gauchos. Don’t worry, you won’t leave Argentina without seeing the stunning Iguazu Falls first! Discover the ‘Devils Throat’ and feel the spray with your local guide before crossing over to Brazil. See the Brazilian side of the Falls and then move on to Rio de Janeiro to bask in the sunshine and enjoy the beach life. Jam-packed with exploration, relaxation and memories, this is a trip you won’t want to miss.

Day 1

Santiago

Your South America tour starts today. Arrive at the airport and then transfer to The Singular Santiago Lastarria Hotel. In the evening, enjoy dinner at the hotel.

Day 2

Santiago

Uncover Santiago’s sites today from the Santa Lucia Hill to the San Francisco Church to the lively Plaza de Armas, San Cristóbal Hill and Santiago Metropolitan Cathedral. In the afternoon, enjoy a local seafood lunch – Chilean style.

Day 3

Santiago - Valparaiso - Santiago

Enjoy some Chilean wine today at the coastal towns of Viña del Mar and Valparaíso. Feel the seaside breeze at lunch, enjoying some of the best wines with traditional empanadas on the side at Kingston Family Vineyard.

Day 4

Santiago - Buenos Aires

Jet to Buenos Aires this morning and check into your hotel in La Recoleta. In the evening enjoy a six-course Dinner at El Fogon Asada. You’ll see and taste dishes prepared using unique grilling methods, sip on a welcome cocktail and meet the chef!

Day 5

Buenos Aires

Explore Buenos Aires’ Palermo, San Telmo and Recoleta neighbourhood today with your guide. You’ll see the iconic balcony which was made famous by Eva Peron. Marvel in the Belle Époque Teatro Colón opera house’s wonderful architecture and then in the evening, enjoy music and dance at Rojo Tango.

Day 6

Pampas, Estancias and Gauchos

See the gauchos today, also known as South American cowboys and visit a traditional estancia - a ranch. You can enjoy a guided horseback ride and learn about their traditions, or you could go on a guided tour and see what it’s like to work on a ranch. End the day with a show from the gauchos themselves paired with music and a tasty asado lunch with traditional mate tea.

Day 7

Buenos Aires – Iguazu Falls (Argentinian Side)

Fly to UNESCO World Heritage Site Iguazu Falls today. You’ll see the Argentinian side of the falls and the Devil’s Throat with your local guide. Later, check into your hotel which is the only hotel inside the Brazilian Iguazu National Park. In the evening, dinner will be served with wine at the Ipe Grill where you can choose from a range of traditional Brazilian barbecue or international dishes.

Day 8:

Iguazu Falls (Brazilian side)

Wake up inside the park giving you the opportunity to be one of the first to get to the park. Meet your guide and go for a walk on the Brazilian side of the falls and witness the stunning panoramic views of San Martin Island. After, visit the amazing Bird Park seeing over a thousand South American butterflies, birds and reptiles.

Day 9

Iguazu Falls - Rio de Janeiro

Head to Rio de Janeiro today and see the stunning Ipanema and Copacabana beaches which are just a walk away from your hotel. Bask in the sunshine or go for a swim. The choice is yours.

Day 10

Rio de Janeiro – Sugarloaf Mountain – Rio de Janeiro

View Brazil from a completely different perspective today, up in the sky! Reach the top of Sugarloaf Mountain by cable car and see the city’s peaks, beaches and bays. For dinner go to a classic Brazilian steakhouse and eat like the locals before heading to the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil and Royal Portuguese Cabinet of Reading.

Day 11

Rio de Janeiro - Corcovado

Take a train with your local guide up Corcovado Hill to Christ the Redeemer, a wonder of the world. You’ll meet with Cecelo and be taken on a walking tour of Ipanema. Marvel at the views and sounds of the place that inspired a new genre of music – Bossa Nova. After, have a Celebration Dinner at the L’Etoile Restaurant which is a French-Brazilian fusion, offering stunning views of the Ipanema coastline.
