Explore the beautiful region of Bordeaux on a river cruise aboard the S.S. Bon Voyage. This Super Ship is designed to immerse you in French art, wine and culture whilst you stay in complete luxury. You’ll sail along the Garonne, Dordogne and Gironde rivers, learn about the region’s fascinating history, sample incredible wine and food from culinary hotspots, and discover a host of cultural treasures.
All meals onboard the ship are included and you’ll enjoy six days of excursions including “Let's Go”, “Do as the Locals Do” and “Village Day” programmes. You can cycle through vineyards, tour private chateaus, explore a UNESCO World Heritage-listed fortress with a local expert, and more.
Arrive in beautiful Bordeaux. You’ll be greeted at the airport and transferred to the ship, where you can unpack, relax and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Travel along the breath-taking Route de la Corniche Fleurie to Blaye Fortress, passing through one beautiful hamlet to another. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a historic fortress, which once protected Bordeaux from sea attacks.
In the evening, you’ll enjoy a special Captain’s Welcome Reception and Dinner, and reflect on the day’s activities with your fellow travellers.
Today is all about wine. The Médoc region is filled with prestigious chateaus and vineyards stretching as far as the eye can see. Choose between cycling through the vineyards or a wine-tasting and tour at a private estate.
Known for its dessert wine, the town of Cadillac is all about “la douceur de vivre” – the sweetness of life. Meet the owners of Château Royal de Cazeneuve and enjoy a private tour of this beautiful estate. Alternatively you can opt to uncover the colourful life of artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec when you visit to Château Malrome.
You’ll dock in Libourne, which will be used as your base for exploring nearby Saint-Émilion. Enjoy a walking tour of this pretty Medieval town, stroll down cobblestone lanes, and discover numerous bakeries and wine shops. Finish up with some world-class wine tasting at the Grand Cru Estate.
Discover and sample the fresh flavours of the region at the Libourne farmers market. Stroll around the stalls brimming with produce and meet the local artisans and ateliers.
Return to Bordeaux and discover more of the city’s charms. You can pay a visit to the Cité du Vin Museum, opt to explore the pretty backstreets by bike, or take a walking tour to tick off all the local hotspots.
Disembark the ship and transfer back to the airport for your flight home.
