Day 3

Mount Nebo and Madaba

After breakfast, you’ll set off for Mount Nebo. One of the most sacred sites in Jordan, this holy spot is where Moses is said to have seen the Promised Land – and he’s also rumoured to be buried here. As well as boasting sweeping views, Mount Nebo has an ancient Byzantine church, which Pope John Paul II visited in 2001.

Next, you’ll visit St George’s Church in Madaba. This 19th-century church was unknowingly built on the site of a much earlier 6th-century Byzantine church, and the builders miraculously uncovered the Madaba Map. Crafted in 56AD, this ancient mosaic shows all the major biblical sites of the Middle East.

Your driver will then take you to Petra, where you’ll spend the night.

It’s sure to be somewhere you’ll never forget.

Day 5

Wadi Rum

Once you’ve had breakfast, it’s time to head towards Wadi Rum. Made famous by its appearance in Lawrence of Arabia, this incredible landscape looks like something from another planet – which is probably why it also starred as Mars in The Martian. You’ll embark on a two-hour Jeep tour of the desert, passing dramatic cliffs, strange rock formations and sweeping orange dunes. You can explore deep canyons and even see 4,000-year-old rock paintings.

You’ll then travel on to Aqaba, where you’ll stay the night.

Day 6

Aqaba

You can spend your day in Aqaba however you wish. Jordan’s only coastal city is brushed by the Red Sea, and has become a popular spot for diving, snorkelling and watersports. Don a mask and flippers and swim among bright corals, tropical fish and turtles – or you could go on a glass-bottomed boat trip and admire them from above.

Alternatively, spend your day sightseeing. It’s worth visiting Aqaba Fort – sometimes called Aqaba Castle – which was built by Crusaders in the 12th century. You should also make time for Aqaba Archaeological Museum, if you want to learn more about the city’s fascinating past.

You’ll spend the night in Aqaba.

Day 7

Dead Sea

After breakfast, you’ll journey towards the Dead Sea. The lowest place on Earth, the Dead Sea is famous for its unnaturally high levels of salt. The water is so dense that it’s physically impossible for you to sink. Instead, you’ll float effortlessly on the surface. The Dead Sea is also full of minerals – 12 of which can’t be found anywhere else – so your skin will feel revitalized afterwards.

This relaxing day is the perfect way to round off your Jordan tour – and you’ll be staying in a hotel nearby, so there’s no need to travel again.
