This short tour will give you a taste of the sights in the truly remarkable area of Australia.
On arrival at Ayres Rock airport you will be transferred to the resort (for flight arrivals before 1.30pm) This afternoon visit Kata-Tjuta Cultural Centre and learn about the western desert region before taking a tour of the sacred sites around the base of Uluru walking to Mutitjulu Waterhole to view the ancient Aboriginal rock art. Overnight – Outback Pioneer Hotel, Desert Gardens Hotel or Sails in the Desert Hotel
Rise early this morning and watch the red centre come alight as the sun rises before travelling onto the mystic domes of Kata Tjuta. On route enjoy panoramic views of Southern Kata Tjuta until you arrive at the base of Walpa Gorge. Explore the gorge and the unusual conglomerate formations prior to travelling onto Kings Canyon.
Overnight – Kings Canyon Resort
As the sunrises take the steep climb to the rim of Kings Canyon for a spectacular view of Watarrka National Park. As you walk the rim of the canyon stop to look down into the gorge to see a series of lookout points. The walk takes three hours to complete and is rocky and steep inn parts so an easier, shorter option is an option. This route takes you to explore the boulder-strewn canyon creek bed, allowing you to get close to the native plants and birdlife. Your tour concludes in Alice Springs.
