Tucked on the intimate Filaidhoo Island – measuring just over half a kilometre long – Reethi Faru Resort offers an exclusive escape. But you’ll still have plenty of space to relax in privacy. The rich greenery and white sands are peppered with 99 villas, while 46 more arc out in the lagoon’s crystal-clear waters.
Reethi Faru’s natural surroundings are some of the most striking on the globe, and the resort is dedicated to preserving them. Artificial reefs have been planted to restore those damaged by storms or coral bleaching. Natural corals that are struggling are attached to frames to make sure they survive. And the resort is in the process of establishing lots of ‘Reethi gardens’ of coral in the waters surrounding its island, to make sure they continue to thrive in the future. Local marine life is also conserved, as part of Reethi Faru’s Manta and Sea Turtle ID programmes. These aim to track the beautiful wildlife who call the waters home and make sure they’re kept safe from harm.
If you love to stay active, Reethi Faru Resort has plenty of things to keep you busy during your stay. Head to the fitness centre to keep your muscles toned, take on your family at one of five court sports, or unwind with a daily yoga session. For an adrenaline hit, why not take to the waters and try your hand at one of a dozen watersports?
Reethi Faru’s main restaurant looks out over the calm waters and serves up international buffet-style dinners. You’ll be treated to a different theme from across the globe every night.
Watch chefs cook fresh seafood, meat and vegetables on the open-air grill of this shoreside eatery. Dine al fresco or under a traditional thatched canopy, with your toes in the white sand.
Tuck into poolside bites, including pizzas, burgers and crepes, or refresh yourself with a cool drink. You can sip or snack from the comfort of your sun lounger.
This secluded bar is open seasonally and offers spectacular views out across the ocean. Head down at sunset for a truly memorable experience.
This eatery sits out in the ocean at the end of the jetty, and boasts excellent views, delicious meals and barista-style coffee.
Haruge is the resort’s main bar, and comes complete a games room, 55-inch TV showing international sports, and nightly themed entertainment. The traditional coconut-and-thatch roof makes it feel pretty cosy, too.
Watch boats skimming across the water at Veyo Bar, which overlooks the resort’s infinity pool and the calm lagoon. Relaxing beats and fresh smoothies are the order of the day here.
Mark a special occasion with a candlelit dinner at this beachside spot. It serves just a few exclusive tables every night, so make sure you book ahead to enjoy the fantastic international cuisine.
Head to the east side of the island for a peaceful drink at Nala Bar. Watch the nearby kitesurfers as you sip something chilled.
