One of the major factors which makes Peru attractive to so many visitors is the historical origin of the country. The range of natural and man-made wonders is endless; perfect if you want an alternative type of holiday whereby you can explore and occupy space that was once home to ancient civilisations that we can only imagine of now such as the Norte Chico civilisation and the Incas.
Peru, for many, is truly the pinnacle of exploration. It can claim to be one of the world’s most fascinating places and certainly one of the most mysterious. Watching the Sun break through misty shroud encompassing the ruins of the revered lost Incan city of Machu Picchu is often one of the sights that people live for and yet Peru offers so much more to the casual observer.
Peru can be considered to be an explorer’s paradise; certainly there is a lot to see such as the world’s highest lake in Titicaca. There is also the numerous Incan ruins such as those overlooking the Sacred Valley, delve into the epoch-making city of Cusco and of course navigate the lake that is high on people’s agenda!
Of course colonial gems of Cuzco, Arequipa and Machu Picchu are extraordinary to say the least. However, Peru has more to offer, as the mountains to the east of the country melt away and blend into the dense vegetation and rich fauna of the Amazon Rainforest, which you can explore from an interesting perspective.
Peru has a bit of everything that will leave you wanting more from a Latin American holiday, something a bit different and alternative to what you may be used to on a holiday as well as wonders that will insensate desires that will become a normal feeling while travelling the country in your own Latin American adventure.
