Hotel Overview

Creole comforts

This resort’s name means ‘islander’ in Mauritius’ Creole language, and every part of Zilwa Attitude embodies the island’s rich Creole history. Visit Lor Disab – meaning ‘right on the sand’ – for a taste of Mauritius for dinner. You can tuck into local dishes and admire the artwork on Anse la Raie’s shores. Or, if the occasion calls for something more sophisticated, head over to Siro Kann to try signature cocktails made with sugar cane juice and island rum. Once the day is done, unwind in your beach-hut style room, which combines traditional design with modern luxuries.

International dining

Zilwa Attitude’s seven bars and restaurants serve up food from across the globe. But, if you want to get a taste of local specialities, you’ll find diverse ‘metisaz’ cuisine across the resort. This style of cooking blends Indian, Creole, Asian and European flavours together, reflecting the island’s rich history. You’ll also find a taste of home across the resort, as Western buffet meals, snacks and drinks can be found at its eateries. Head to Karay for regular themed buffets by the side of the main pool.

Traditional therapies

Need a helping hand shaking off the stress of the daily grind? Visit Spa Attitude and book a relaxing treatment or use the therapeutic facilities, including an ice fountain and traditional hammam bath, designed to help you take it easy. Opt for a treatment in the eco-friendly Vilaz Masaz suite, which has solar heaters and serves freshly-brewed teas from the resort’s herb garden.

Facilities

Restaurants & Bars

Karay

Dine poolside at Karay and tuck into Mauritian breakfasts and themed buffets any time you like. You’ll have great views across the sea, too.

Siaw

Chinese and Mauritian cuisine meet at Siaw, where you can watch signature stir-fried rice noodles come to life before your eyes. Dine under the glow of bamboo light fixtures.

Tadka

If you’re in the mood for Indian cuisine, head to Tadka. You’ll discover traditional dishes cooked at live stations in this brightly coloured dining room.

Lor Disab

Creole for ‘right on the sand’, this traditional restaurant is, unsurprisingly, on the beach. Feast on Mauritian dishes and admire traditional artwork under the wooden veranda.

Gran Zil BBQ

Get stuck into a tasty barbecue prepared by one of the resort’s family members – fresh seafood, juicy meat and seasonal vegetables are grilled up as you sip a cold drink.

Kot Nou

Family-style Mauritian cuisine is served at Kot Nou. It’s the best place to go if you fancy an authentic taste of local dishes in the heart of the resort.

Taba-J

Grab a tasty local bite – like roti and curry of the day – from this street-food style hut. It’s a great spot to fill up during a busy beach day.

Siro Kann

This is a cosy spot to refresh any time. Sip cocktails made with signature ‘siro kann’ sugar cane juice and Mauritian rum, or nibble a tasty sandwich during the day.

Pirogue Bar

Grab a drink on the beach at Pirogue Bar. Come evening, it turns into an adults-only haven, where you can stargaze or watch the sun set.

Rooms & Suites

Zilwa Attitude’s rooms and suites have plenty of Creole charm, inspired by the traditional houses in nearby fishing village Grand Gaube. Expect to be greeted by coconut fibre carpets, paintings by Mauritian artist Malcolm de Chazal and playful Creole ‘sirandanes’ (riddles) on the walls of every room. Slip into your Dodo flip-flops – which are favoured by real Zilwa – and get exploring the nearby sands.
