Things to do in Queensland

On the east coast of Australia you will find its second largest state, Queensland. Known as the 'Sunshine State' Queensland is home to some of Australia's most beautiful beaches and a whole host of things to do! The city of Brisbane as the gateway to Queensland offers a bustling metropolis of excellent shopping, delicious dining and a cool, contemporary vibe, the perfect place to start your Queensland adventure.

Noosa and the Sunshine Coast delivers the beautiful outdoors in abundance. As promised, epic beaches and crashing waves stretch for miles along the stunning coastlines, offering the quintessential Australian beach lifestyle. While the lesser explored Hinterland gives visitors an opportunity to experience the regions lush green interior, with raised walkways and hidden lodges providing a wilderness escape, straight off the beaten track. Take a guided or self-guided canoe trip along the spectacular Noosa Everglades and experience one of Australia's most diverse eco-systems, in this relatively untouched area, home to more than 40% of Australia's bird species.

Queensland also boasts a host of beautiful islands, beautiful Hamilton Island offers great hotels and a range of ocean based activities accessible right off the beach. Reefsleep with Cruise Whitsundays departs from the island and gives guests a chance to sleep beneath the stars, right on the reef. Off the Fraser Coast, K'gari as Australia's largest sand island is home to a 75-mile stretch of beach, native dingoes, shipwrecks and crystal clear lakes. With no roads on the island you can explore by 4x4, go sand boarding down the dunes and float down Eli Creek before relaxing in the spectacular Lake Mackenzie.

Northern Queensland is famed for its exceptional diving opportunities on the Great Barrier Reef but make sure you don't miss the chance to explore the vast Daintree Rainforest, take the Kuranda Skyrail to witness this magnificent rainforest from the air and journey north to Cape Tribulation.
