All-inclusive Holidays to Barbados

All-inclusive resorts pepper the numerous stunning beaches for which Barbados is so famous. But, with a distinct culture and magnificent Caribbean climate, the island has so much more to offer than white sands. Once you’ve dried off from swimming in the azure-blue sea and enjoyed your all-inclusive lunch, why not go exploring? Thanks to its petit size, Barbados is very easy to get around. Head into the tropical heart of the island on a wildlife safari, or take a boat trip and be mesmerised by tropical fish. To travel like a local, jump on to one of the colourful Bajan buses and hop across the island. The capital city of Bridgetown is teeming with historic attractions, like the Chamberlain Bridge, and plenty of museums. There’s also a rum distillery, where you can discover how Barbados’ national drink is made – cheers.

Why Choose an All-inclusive Holiday to Barbados?

There’s no right or wrong way to travel – but there is one way to make your holiday to Barbados as easy as possible. By booking an all-inclusive trip, you can enjoy a hassle-free holiday, where everything from your transfers to tequila is covered by the price. Not only does all-inclusive save you time and stress, it also helps you stick to your budget. Once you’ve booked your holiday, there’s nothing left to pay for – as long as you can resist Bridgetown’s shops and restaurants, of course.

Without question, the highlight of Barbados is its stunning beaches. There's no better way to spend your days than relaxing on your resort-reserved golden sands, and feasting on the hotel’s food and drink whenever the mood takes you. Barbados boasts a wide array of resorts and complexes – some are designed for families travelling with children, while others are the perfect choice for a romantic all-inclusive getaway.

Things to do in Barbados

The Only City in Barbados

As well as being the capital of Barbados, Bridgetown is the island’s only city. Old meets new in Bridgetown, where duty-free shopping and historical sites share the same streets. Even if your all-inclusive resort isn't in Bridgetown itself, a trip here should definitely be on your agenda. A tour of the Mount Gay Rum Distillery is a must-do. Find out how the Caribbean’s favourite spirit is made, and try your mixologist skills in a cocktail class at the end of the tour. The Barbados Museum, housed in a former prison, gives a rich insight into the country's history, with information about the indigenous culture, the settlement of Europeans, and the present-day population. You can also take a tour around the neo-Gothic parliament building, when members aren’t sitting. And, of course, cricket fans must visit the prestigious Kensington Oval ground.

The Great Outdoors

Away from the sun-kissed beach resorts of Barbados, the isle’s diverse nature and wildlife is waiting to be discovered. Check out Harrison's Cave – this underground system of limestone caverns makes a great half-day trip. Or take a 4x4 ride to see the impressive Mount Hillaby – the highest point on the island – and weave through tangled jungle in the protected Welchman Hall Gully. If you're lucky, you might even spot a monkey or two. But Barbados’ natural wonders aren’t all on land. The crystal-clear Caribbean Sea is filled with marine life. Take a glass-bottomed boat out across the waters, search for graceful turtles, and snorkel with multi-coloured fish.

Shopping in Barbados

Barbados is a fabulous choice for your all-inclusive holiday. But, if you do fancy spending some cash, it also has great shopping options. One of the biggest draws of going on a shopping spree in Barbados is the duty-free stores, which can be up to 50 per cent cheaper than their Europe cousins. Vibrant Bridgetown is packed with luxury brands and local vendors – head to Swan Street and Broad Street to get to the heart of the shopping action. Premium brands can be found at Limegrove Lifestyle Centre in Holetown, which is world-renowned for providing a luxurious shopping experience. At the other end of the spectrum, Cheapside Market is home to food stalls, local goods and a buzzing atmosphere. There are also several farmers’ markets peppered around the island selling food, art and crafts – perfect for souvenirs.
