Discover some of the world’s most dramatic and breathtaking scenery on the 8 Day Alaska National Park Explorer, where nature’s finest ‘sculptures’ and its native inhabitants will create some magnificent memories. Beginning in Alaska’s capital Anchorage, the tour will take you to Kenai Peninsula to enjoy whale and marine wildlife watching, before visiting Seward, Valdez and Wrangell St. Elias National Park, home to nine of America’s highest peaks. A trip to Denali National Park marks the conclusion of the tour, but that is just enough time to seek out the stunning caribou, grizzly bears and moose that frequent this area.

Day 1: Arrive Anchorage
After arriving at Anchorage Airport collect your car and check in to your hotel. This afternoon and evening are free for you to explore this fascinating city, its size and modernity at total odds with the surrounding scenery.

Day 2: Anchorage - Kenai - Seward
Head south to the Kenai Peninsula and enjoy an included whale and marine wildlife cruise through the stunning peaks and glaciers of Kenai Fjords National Park. Overnight in Seward.

Day 3: Seward - Valdez
Take the ferry across the pristine Prince William Sound this morning. Enjoy unforgettable views of the 300 ft high, four miles wide Columbia Glacier en-route to Valdez, a charming resort that is also the southern terminal of the Trans-Alaska Oil Pipeline.

Day 4: Valdez - Wrangell St. Elias - Black Rapids
Head to Chitina for views of Wrangell St. Elias National Park, home to nine of America’s highest peaks. Covering 13.2 million acres it is the largest national park in America and bigger than the whole of Switzerland. Then drive north on the Richardson Highway to Black Rapids located in pristine wilderness. Don’t miss the chance to see the Black Rapids Glacier across the river from the historic Roadhouse.

Day 5: Paxson - Fairbanks
Drive to Delta Junction, end point of the remarkable Alaska Highway, then onto the rugged interior town of Fairbanks, via the festive town of North Pole.

Days 6 & 7: Fairbanks - Denali National Park
Head south along the Parks Highway to spectacular Denali National Park home to Mount McKinley, the highest peak in North America, for a two-night stay. The Park's tundra scenery and wildlife, including moose, caribou and grizzlies, can all be seen on an included tour operated by the National Parks' system.

Day 7: Denali National Park
Today will be an early start as you join your guided tour of the national park’s mountain and tundra scenery. Tours are operated by the national parks system with experienced guides to ensure you maximise your wildlife spotting opportunities.
Day 8: Denali - Anchorage
Continue south to Anchorage and return your car before your onward flight.
