Spend some time getting to grips with the sights and sounds of three of Southeast Asia’s most prominent hotspots on the holiday adventure of a lifetime. Start your trip with a 5 day tour of Cambodia where you can get up close and personal with the intricacies of the ancient temples of Angkor before heading out for a 2 night stay in the city of Luang Prabang in Laos. Venture out to see the cascading waters of Kuang Si Falls, the Elephant Village of Ban Xieng Lom and the wares of the Luang Prabang Night Market before continuing on for a 7 day tour of Vietnam, starting all the way from the enriched capital city of Hanoi, through the Mekong Delta and finishing amongst the historical landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 1: Arrive Phnom Penh
Arrive in Phnom Penh where you will be greeted by an English speaking guide for transfer to your hotel to check in.

Day 2: Phnom Penh
Today you’ll have the opportunity to explore a city often considered as one of the most beautiful to be found in the Orient. Your tour begins after breakfast with a trip to the Royal Palace, which dates back to the 1860s and is home to Wat Prakeo. Here, you can marvel at the vast collection of Buddhas and also the thousands of silver tiles that make up the floor; giving the temple its other name of the Silver Pagoda. You’ll then visit the National Museum to examine the huge collection of Khmer artefacts before a break back at your hotel around midday. In the afternoon, you’ll explore Cambodia’s recent dark history with a visit to the Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, located in a school that was turned into a detention and torture centre by the Khmer Rouge. You’ll then explore the Killing Fields of Choeung Ek for a harrowing insight into what happened from those who survived the camps alive. You’ll then return to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

Day 3: Phnom Penh – Siem Reap
Following breakfast you’ll transfer to the airport to catch a flight to Siem Reap, where you’ll be greeted by your guide for transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, you’ll take a cruise out onto the huge Tonle Sap lake; the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia. During monsoon season, the lake spreads across the surrounding flood plain and you’ll have chance to cruise past floating houses and flooded forests on a visit to Kompong Phluck. You’ll return to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

Day 4: Siem Reap
Today you’ll enjoy the opportunity to explore some of the most impressive examples of Angkorian temples; starting off with Angkor Wat. Hugely symbolic for the Khmer people, the temple dates back to the 12th century and is known for the 2,000 Apsara dancers that decorating its walls, as well as the stone carvings and bas-reliefs to be found inside. Your next stop is the last capital of the Great Khmer Empire, Angkor Thom, where you can marvel at the carvings that adorn the South Gate as you enter the city walls to visit the Bayon Temple – famed for its 54 towers that represent the 54 provinces of the empire. A rest at the hotel comes before heading out to visit the pink sandstone temple of Banteay Srei, before day draws to a close at Ta Prohm; a unique temple being slowly reclaimed by the jungle that surrounds it. Your evening is then spent at leisure back at your hotel.

Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels – Ho Chi Minh
Leave Ho Chi Minh early in the morning and head through the rice paddies and local villages that take you towards the Cu Chi District in southern Vietnam. On arrival, you’ll go underground and see what life was like as a guerrilla fighter in the network of tunnels created by the Viet Cong to use during battle. After lunch at a local restaurant back in Ho Chi Minh, you’ll have the option of visiting the War Remnants or History Museum before a trip the Presidential Palace and some of the other major sights to be found in the colonial city – including the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street and the City Hall.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh – Cai Be/Mekong Delta
Head out of Ho Chi Minh early in the morning to drive to the delta town of Cai Be, where you will board a boat for a trip around the delta waterways, passing by the iconic floating markets. Having marvelled at the traders at work on the water, you’ll visit a local cottage factory to see some local specialities being produced. Continue on to the Dong Hoa Hiep Island, admiring the local scenery along the way, before enjoying a Mekong style lunch. Don your lifejackets and embark on a sampan trip before finally returning to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh – Hanoi
Leave Ho Chi Minh City following breakfast and travel to the airport to take a flight to Hanoi, where you will meet with your guide and head for your hotel to drop off your luggage. The afternoon is then set aside to see some of the sights on a city tour, starting with a trip to the mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh, the father of modern Vietnam. After a visit to the wooden ethnic minority style house where he lived in his later years, as well as the impressive One Pillar Pagoda, you’ll have chance to visit the Temple of Literature; Vietnam’s first university, and Hoa Lo Prison; dubbed the Hanoi Hilton by American prisoners of war who were incarcerated there.

Day 5: Hanoi – Halong Bay
Travel through the farmlands of the Red River Delta and witness local Vietnamese people going about their business in the rice fields as you head for the coast and Halong Bay. On arrival, you’ll join your boat at the pier before enjoying an overnight cruise into the Bay to explore the numerous impressive limestone rock formations – including those known as the Sail, Dog and the Dinh Huong. As the day draws to a close, the anchor will drop so you can watch the sun go down before enjoying dinner onboard.
