Day 1: Arrive Windhoek
Upon arrival, collect your rental vehicle at the rental desk. Your journey of southern Namibia begins with a short drive from Windhoek International airport to the capital city Windhoek. Enjoy the day at leisure or explore the city centre with its colonial-style buildings, street cafes and craft markets.
Day 2: Kalahari Desert
Leaving Windhoek, travel to the Kalahari, a desert which is the largest sand mass in the world, and is referred to as the “Soul of the World”. Enjoy an optional nature drive in the late afternoon (own expense).
Day 3: Fish River Canyon
Leaving the Kalahari drive to the Quiver Tree Forest, where you will find over 250 indigenous aloes in a single area. Continue your journey to Fish River Canyon, which undoubtedly counts as one of the rare natural wonders on earth. If you are travelling on the Superior Option, you can partake in a guided walk onto a granite hill to enjoy the stunning sundowner with a cold drink in hand.
Da 4: Fish River Canyon
Today, visit Fish River Canyon which is the second largest of its kind on earth. In the afternoon you can relax or take part in optional activities, such as rhino tracking or horse riding (own expense).
Day 5: Orange River
In the morning travel south to the Orange River, which forms a natural border to South Africa. Your lodge is situated directly along the calm flowing water of the Orange River. The rest of the afternoon is at your leisure.
Day 6: Luderitz
Following breakfast, travel to the edge of the Namibian escarpment and via the Succulent Karoo to the coastal town of Lüderitz. Your hotel awards you a magnificent view over the Atlantic Ocean and is the basis for a variety of exciting activities over the next two days.
Day 7: Kolmanskop (optional)
On Day 7, you can participate in optional sightseeing tours of Kolmanskop, Sperrgebiet or the Khoichab dunes.
Day 8: Sossuslvlei
This morning you’ll travel via endless plains and along striking mountain ranges into the Namib Desert, the oldest desert on earth.
Day 9: Dead Vlei
On Day 9, from Sossusvlei visit Dead Vlei (approximately 100km/62 miles on Standard , 150km/93 miles on Superior), a surreal white clay pan surrounded by monumental dunes and dotted with age-old camelthorn trees.
Day 10: Windhoek
After a relaxed breakfast, travel up the Namibian plateau and back to Windhoek, where you'll return your rental vehicle and where the tour ends.
