Get more inspiration

A dream-like destination on your doorstep

Mallorca is the ideal place for a much-needed holiday in the hot Spanish sunshine, with sprawling beaches, a gorgeous Mediterranean climate, and a resort to suit every budget and taste. And, what's more, this glorious getaway is just a two-hour flight from the UK. Mallorca is a dream-like destination that's practically on your doorstep!

So Much to See and Do

As with any Spanish holiday, you should spend some time relaxing on the sun-drenched beaches. Situated in the north of Mallorca, you'll find the family-friendly and soft white sands of Alcudia. Towards the east, there's a plethora of vibrant, picturesque coves and spectacular scenery. How about exploring the centre? Here you'll discover the bustling capital of Palma, where historical monuments, traditional eateries and pretty boutiques await.

Mallorca has many excursions, attractions and sightseeing opportunities, including Catedral De Mallorca, Palma Aquarium, Alcudia Old Town and many more. Fancy an adrenaline-fuelled afternoon of fun? Visit Mallorca's largest water park, Aqualand El Arenal - the perfect day out if you're visiting with children.

Something For Everyone

With more than 300 days of sunshine every year and plenty to see and do, this is the perfect destination for a fun-filled holiday with the kids, a romantic couples' retreat or an adventure with friends. There's no wonder why Mallorca attracts thousands of tourists every year. If you're wondering how to spend three days on this beautiful Balearic Island, we've got your idyllic itinerary covered. From tempting tapas restaurants to action-filled theme parks. While we understand that everyone's dream Mallorca holiday will look slightly different, here's our recommended way to spend 72 hours in Mallorca.

How To Get to Mallorca

You'll enjoy a speedy two-hour flight from most UK cities and land at Palma De Mallorca Airport - the third largest in Spain. Because Mallorca is quick and easy to travel to, many spend a weekend exploring its unrivalled beauty.

Day One: Visit Palma and The Old Town

There's no better way to soak up the world-famous Spanish ambience than a trip to Palma's old town. You'll immediately notice Catedral De Mallorca - this breathtaking sight should be at the top of your Mallorca holiday to-do list. And don't miss out on the beautiful Bellver Castle, renowned for its extraordinary city views.

When you're not exploring Palma's significant cultural attractions, how about wandering around its winding roads with authentic shops and stunning architecture? Stop by and enjoy a spot of treasure hunting at Palma's oldest market. The intricate stalls are filled with succulent seafood, fresh flowers and perfectly-baked pastries.

After exploring Palma, you may be ready for an hour or two of relaxation. And it wouldn't be a holiday without soaking up the rays on one of the golden beaches! The closest beach to the centre of Palma is Ca'n Pere Antoni. This pristine sandy sweep is perfect for swimming and scenic coastal walks.

Day Two: Take the Train to Sóller

From the busy capital of Palma, there's a train that runs into the centre of Sóller. Boasting a perfect combination of classic seaside beauty and traditional Spanish heritage, Sóller is a captivating town worth visiting. Hop on the train, and sit comfortably in one of the vintage carriages as you enjoy a scenic ride through the spectacular Serra De Tramuntana mountain range! This hour-long train ride is a truly memorable experience.

When you arrive in Sóller, explore the village before sitting down to enjoy a coffee at one of the dainty cafés in the market square. If you love fresh fruit, then you're in luck. Sóller is famous for its unique Valley of Oranges. Their freshly-squeezed orange juice is like you've never tasted before.

How about hopping aboard an open-air streetcar to Port Sóller? A serene waterfront promenade, this port is the perfect place for tucking into a fresh seafood dinner.

Day Three: Walk to Spain's Prettiest Town

You've sunbathed, shopped, explored and dined. Now for a day of fascinating natural beauty. Take a short walk along The Dry Stone Route to what's often described as Spain's prettiest town, Fornalutx. But what makes Fornalutx so unique? The gradual climb of the Dry Stone Route takes you through a stunning countryside of small farmhouses, luscious greenery, and a treasure-filled town square of quaint coffee shops serving tasty baguettes and cappuccinos.

For what this village lacks in size, it more than makes up for in beauty. You can expect an authentic mountain village nestled up in the Tramuntana mountain range, surrounded by jaw-dropping, picturesque views. And, if you visit Fornalutx in September, this town holds an annual festival. There's an array of art and craft stalls, bouncy castles and much more! The locals love this event, and it's a great experience for holidaymakers to enjoy.

Will you extend your weekend?

And so, your 72 hours of Mallorca have sadly ended. But if you've seen and done all of this in just three days, imagine the adventures a week or two could hold! If you don't feel like venturing around and exploring the sights and attractions, plenty of hotels offer around-the-clock amenities and entertainment for all ages.
