24 Hours in Sydney

Regularly mistaken as the capital of Australia, Sydney is one of the biggest cities in the southern hemisphere. Reaching international status thanks to its iconic landmarks and attractions, Sydney has plenty to see and do.

Alongside the stunning harbour, with the world-renowned Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House, Sydney has a huge foodie scene and an array of national parks and green areas to enjoy some downtime from the hustle and bustle of the Cultural Business District.

With a population of five million and over 10 million visitors each year, Sydney is brimming with energy and diversity. With tourism forming an integral part of the city’s economy, the city always has something on offer for visitors and locals.

Sydney’s climate is one to enjoy. With summer during the UK’s winter, it’s the ideal place to getaway for some winter sun with their summer months reaching late 30s. For a visit a little more bearable, weather wise, visit in spring (September to November) or autumn (March to May) for temperatures that are much like the UK’s summer.

There’s so much to see and do. Thankfully our 24-hour itinerary is jam-packed with all the sights and set out in such a way that you can navigate your way around the city in the most efficient way possible.

24 Hours in Melbourne

Australia’s second biggest city has a lot to offer down every street you find yourself on. With a 4.8 million population and proud winners of ‘most liveable city’ for seven years running, Melbourne is adored by visitors and locals alike.

Far from humdrum, Melbourne’s vibe is intriguing and exciting; its art-covered streets are a welcome change to city life. Known mainly for its love of good coffee, unrivalled nightlife and extensive art scene, the coastal city in the state of Victoria has plenty to offer.

After spending a couple of hours in vibrant Melbourne, you’ll quickly learn why it’s also known for having four seasons in a day as a trip to the city can bring hot sunshine and pouring rain in the same hour. Take shelter in one of the hundreds of bars, restaurants and cafes dotted around the city waiting to be uncovered. Although, did you know that until 1966, it was illegal for pubs in Melbourne to be open after 18.00? Thankfully, this has now changed and you can enjoy a drink with the local Melbournians on one of their many rooftop bars after sunset.

As with Sydney, the climate – albeit unpredictable – is still enjoyable in the summer months, with temperatures soaring to the late 30s.

If you find yourself in Melbourne for the day, check out our 24-hour itinerary, brimming with all the sights and sounds of beautiful Melbourne.
