Ask the Bloggers – Best Long-Haul Destinations
by on 06 July 2017, 16:07PMThe thought of visiting far-off and exotic locations is enough to get any of us excited! With so many destinations around the world, though, which ones are worth the long-haul flight? We’ve discovered the best far-flung destinations around the world by asking some of our favourite bloggers. Find out the countries you should be visiting in the next year below!
My favourite long-haul destination is Barbados. It’s such a beautiful island, with perfect beaches, a lively nightlife and a really friendly vibe. It’s a pretty small island, but packs a lot of punch despite its size – the Atlantic east coast and Caribbean west coast are very different. The west coast has the calm waters and picture-perfect sunsets, but the east coast has some incredible beaches (including the pink sand of Crane Beach) and is much more rural and undeveloped. It’s the ideal winter getaway, and one that I just keep going back to.

My favourite long-haul destination is Thailand. I know... It's not original, and it sounds a little bit cliché but honestly, in this country, you have everything you might be looking for! If you just want to relax, you have quiet islands like Krabi. If you want to party, you have Phuket and the famous Bangla Road. If you want to go diving, Ko Phi Phi is the place to be. And you can go on an excursion in a lot of different places! I've talked to a lot of different people – family, couples, friends, young, old – who went there... They all loved it!

My favourite long-haul destination is Seattle – probably not your standard answer! Seattle is a vibrant city where you can immerse yourself in culture, music... and coffee! Seattle has everything, from some of the best in American Football down to the first ever Starbucks, not to mention the famous Pike Place Market and Space Needle. There's so much to explore in the Emerald City!

My favourite long-haul destination is Melbourne, Australia. Not only is there so much culture in Melbourne, but my family is based there. Living away in the USA, it's important to try and get home to spend quality time.

My top long-haul destination would probably be Los Angeles. Everything there is so beautiful, from the palm-lined streets to the cars to the people! Its stylish laid-back vibe makes it the perfect destination for a holiday of sunshine, shopping and sipping rosé!

My favourite long-haul destination is New Zealand. It’s such a magical and beautiful country with fantastic food, mind-blowing scenery and the friendliest people I’ve ever met. If the flight weren’t a mammoth 24 hours, I would try and go at least once a year. Can recommend hiring a camper van and driving the entirety of the North and South Island yourself.

My favourite long-haul destination is Zanzibar. It has the most incredible beaches I’ve ever seen, an eclectic mix of cultures and history and delicious food! It’s common to spot dolphins swimming off the beaches and it’s also home to the red colobus monkey, which can only be found on Unguja, Zanzibar’s largest island.
