8 items to take on every flight

by Travelbag on 27 May 2016, 12:05PM

Whether you jet off every month or have just booked your next family break away, here are the 8 flight essentials you need to have in your hand luggage on every flight…literally every flight!

Scarf or a Shawl

The temperature on flights may fluctuate and it may be a bit chilly at times, so you can simply use your scarf as a lightweight blanket. Rolling your scarf up and using it as a pillow, will help you feel more comfortable and relaxed during your flight. A scarf is useful on both land and in the air, as once you’ve finished using it for comfort and warmth on your flight; you can wear it to add a pop of colour to your simplistic travel outfit.

Notebook & Pen

These two items are the perfect way to keep organised, as you can jot down any important and relevant information and you will always have it on you. Writing lists of what you want to do and see in your destination, doodling to pass time in the queues or if you’re like us playing noughts and crosses and hangman can all be done with these…and the time will fly by!

Trip planning

Small Snacks

Small snacks are lifesavers as they keep you going if you don’t have time to pop to a shop or café. You will also save yourself a few pounds by bringing your own snacks, as you won’t have to buy them in the airport or on your flight. But most importantly you have more time to explore the airport shops as you won’t be stuck in food queues!

Earphones or Headphones

If you’re a light sleeper then wearing these whilst sleeping on your flight will ensure you a peaceful sleep! You can listen to music to keep yourself occupied and also you won’t be disturbing anyone around you either. Don’t forget your headphones so you can watch a great selection of films on your long haul flights.

Headphones to keep you entertained onboard

Empty Bottle

This may seem an unusual item to carry but by bringing an empty bottle with you can stay hydrated whilst in the airport, without paying airport beverage prices. You can also fill it up in multiple locations of the airport where there might not even be other drink facilities, so you’ll look super prepared! You can also dispose of the bottle once you’re finished and no money is wasted.

Portable Charger

By carrying a portable charger, the gadgets that keep you busy won’t run out when you need them the most! Your phone will be will be charged so you can keep in touch with your family friends and also contact anyone you need when you land. Having to wander round the airport looking for charging stations will no longer be a problem.

Moisturiser

The cabin air on flight is incredibly drying on your skin and this will ensure your skin stays as hydrated as possible. To protect your skin from the hot sunny weather when you get off the plane, take a moisturiser that incorporates an SPF. By doing this you will feel much more refreshed but don’t forget to check the liquid allowance for your hand luggage before you go!

Travel Socks

As you’ve been walking all around the airport and standing up for a long time, taking your shoes off and popping some moisturiser and travel socks on, gives your feet a breather. As well as making you feel a lot more comfortable and relaxed, it also keeps your feet warm! This also helps to prevent Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVTs) too.

Take all this in a lightweight hand luggage bag!
