The A to Z of places you need to see

Holidays and ‘Bucket lists’ go hand in hand, and you know that we at Travelbag love any form of list, whether that’s a holiday itinerary, a fact list, or a bucket list of our own. The problem is, making decisions is hard. What, or rather where in this case, deserves a place on your list? So, we’ve used our Travel Experts’ knowledge and put together a list of areas around the world we strongly suggest you visit to truly taste what the world has to offer (we have helpfully put it in alphabetical order).

Adelaide

Adelaide

Noted for its many festivals all year round, such as; The Adelaide Film Festival, The Adelaide Art Festival, and many more. 

Buenos Aires 

This beachfront city comes alive after dark, with an amazing nightlife. The European and Latin twist offers a city experience like no other.

Cape Town 

This city has great surfing, wildlife, and scenery. A well-rounded holiday location.

Dubai  

An immense Super City, with so many record-breaking landmarks. The desert sun makes it ideal to visit all year round.

Etosha National Park, Namibia

Namibia

A massive African game reserve, your perfect opportunity to go on a safari and see the illusive ‘The Big 5’.

Fiji  

Pick from 333 islands, leaving a huge variation of activities, wildlife, and hotels. With only 33% of the islands inhabited, you’ll be sure to find yourself some space

Galle, Sri Lanka

Home to a mix of Asian and European influence, offering amazing architecture by the bulk, including 36 acre Dutch fort.

Hong Kong

A dazzling Harbour, and stunning mix of rural, urban, and maritime influence upon the architecture of the ‘Gateway to China’ has made it the world’s number 1 tourist destination for 6 straight years according to the Telegraph.

Ipoh, Malaysia

Home to one of the longest caves in Malaysia, you can guess it is popular with spelunkers (cave explorers). The city is a favourite for backpackers as a stop over between Kuala Lumpur and Penang.

Jamaica

Jamaica

The home of Reggae, this chilled back island is a great location to sit on a beach, cocktail in hand. Surrounded by coral reefs makes for an amazing snorkeling location.

Kathmandu

Capital of Nepal set in the valley of the Himalayas providing the city with some amazing scenery.  

Lima

The Capital of Peru, a great place to end your Inca trail walk and spend a couple days relaxing. 

Marrakech

The cultural & historic Moroccan City, the atmosphere makes for a perfect city break. 

New York

This American metropolis is home to a variety of American landmarks; The Statue of Liberty, Chrysler Building, Central Park, to name a few. We suggest visiting around Christmas time for the best experience.

Oranjestad 

The capital city on the Caribbean island of Aruba, its location means it's great for scuba diving, snorkelling, and any other water activities.

Petra, Jordan

An amazing historic rock cut city in Jordan with many relics to explore and discover.

Quebec

Quebec City

The largest Canadian state is home to a varied landscape of massive lakes, photogenic snow-capped mountains, stunning Fjords, and dense forestry.

Rio de Janeiro

In the shadow of the colossal 30m Christ the Redeemer statue, this Latin paradise is best visited during the famous street Carnival season in February.

Seychelles 

This stunning Indian Ocean honeymoon island is a holiday everyone should have on their bucket list.

Tokyo  

Tokyo

A sprawling capital, which infuses a magnitude of architecture from modern to oriental. 

Ubud, Indonesia

Small town in the rice paddies of Bali, comes with one-of-a-kind-views thanks to the step-like layout of rice far ming.

Victoria Falls

The world’s largest waterfall in Zimbabwe, provides some mesmerising views. (Disclaimer: largest in terms of sheet of falling water. Sheet = height x length. Neither tallest or widest)

West Nusa Tenggara

West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia

This Indonesian province home to Lombok and Sumbawa. An island filled with hot, frothing springs, traditional villages, all surrounded by white sand beaches and turquoise waters.

Xiamen

Better known as Amoy in English (a bit of a cheat, sorry). A historic city just across the South China Sea from Taiwan and slowly emerging as China’s most sophisticated city. 

Yellowstone National park

The first US national park, this reserve has amazing views, and is a nature-watching paradise. 

Zanzibar 

A small island off the coast of Tanzania with amazing virgin beaches and crystal blue sea.
