If getting married is the most exciting time in a person’s life, then a honeymoon can’t be far off.

There are so many dream holiday destinations, which cater to the perfect honeymoon. Here are ten of our favourites:

1. Dubai honeymoons

Dubai

If you want to jet off to a city that boasts equal measures of glamour and excitement, consider a Dubai honeymoon.

How you spend your Dubai honeymoon is entirely up to you, there’s so much to do here. You could have a different type of holiday every single day. Relax on the beach or shop until you drop, the choice is yours.

Dubai highlights include the tallest building in the world, the Burj Khalifa, which stands at a whopping 830 metres tall. On the 122nd floor there’s a gorgeous restaurant called At.mospehere, where you’ll be able to try some exquisite food with your other half, while taking in some of the best views of Dubai. One of the most prominent pastimes in Dubai is shopping! The Dubai Mall is the largest shopping centre in the world, with 1,200 shops for you and your new spouse to browse at your leisure.

If it’s a relaxing honeymoon you’re after, the beaches in Dubai are beautiful. Pearlescent white sands and crystal clear waters you can expect from some of the world’s best beaches. The breathtaking surroundings are perfect for a romantic stroll with your other half.

2. The Maldives honeymoons

Maldives

If soft white sand, turquoise waters and over-water villas sound like your dream getaway, a honeymoon to The Maldives could be perfect for you.

Paradise awaits you in The Maldives. The region is built up of tiny islands in the Indian Ocean, which provide perfect honeymoon destination for newlyweds looking to kick back, relax and simply enjoy each other’s company under the warm Indian sunshine.

If you want to stay somewhere more private, it’s worth noting that of the 202 inhabited islands in The Maldives, 100 of them are exclusive luxury resorts - perfect for honeymooning in a peaceful and serene environment.

3. Mauritius honeymoons

Mauritius

Mauritius is a paradisiacal island retreat that’s full of natural beauty.

There’s lots to do in Mauritius, so if you feel like having a break from soaking up the glorious African sunshine, you’ll have lots of activities enjoy, including scuba diving and watersports. Take a romantic stroll with your other half and look at some French colonial houses, or see some endangered species at one of the animal parks.

It’s good news for foodies, too! Mauritius offers a wide variety of five-star restaurants, serving delicious local and international cuisine. Perfect for a romantic meal for two.

4. Barbados honeymoons

Barbados

Barbados is a tiny island in the Caribbean, packed full of fun, sea, sand and rum! It’s a fantastic honeymoon destination for anyone looking for a versatile holiday, and is the perfect place to enjoy each other’s company.

The capital, Bridgetown, is full to bursting with Caribbean culture and features lots of shops ranging from high street stores to bustling marketplaces. The entire downtown area was recognised in 2012 as a Unesco Heritage Site for its historical significance.

No honeymoon would be complete without a romantic meal for two, and in Barbados you’ll be spoilt for choice wherever you choose to go. If you’re a fan of  seafood, you’re in luck, as there are many seafood restaurants serving exquisite dishes with their catch of the day.

5. New York honeymoons

New York

Where better to spend your honeymoon than in the Big Apple? The streets of New York are full of wonder, and there’s always something new to see around the corner.

There are a number of famous landmarks in the city, but the most iconic has to be the Empire State Building. This instantly recognizable skyscraper is a prominent feature of the New York City skyline, and a visit to the observation deck at the top is a must for any newlyweds.

There are over 20,000 restaurants in New York, so a romantic meal with your other half is a given here. The world-famous Rainbow Room offers stunning panoramic views of Manhattan, or if you fancy something quick on the go, there are thousands of street venders offering tempting treats.
