Are you planning your dream family holiday to Dubai?

The massive UAE city is the perfect destination for a Middle East family break, with numerous activities, resorts and attractions that cater to guests of all ages. There’s so much to do on a Dubai holiday, you may have trouble fitting everything into one break. To ensure you make the most of your holiday, we’ve whittled things down to our 10 favourite family-friendly things to do while in Dubai.

1. Make a splash at the Wild Wadi Water Park

Wild Wadi Waterpark

You can’t mention family activities in Dubai, without first mentioning the incredible Wild Wadi Water Park. Situated near the Burj Al Arab and just a stones throw from Jumeirah Beach, this spectacular park boasts some of the best waterslides in Dubai. There are over 30 attractions here for the whole family, including kids’ slides and swimming pools for your little ones.

2. Test your skiing skills at Ski Dubai

Ski Dubai

Dubai is a place that never ceases to amaze. If you’re looking for an amazing experience that the whole family will love, we recommend paying a visit to Ski Dubai. Ski Dubai is the largest indoor skiing centre in the world.
Located in the huge Mall of the Emirates shopping centre, this indoor alpine adventure playground boasts both beginner and expert slopes. Just remember to wrap up warm!

3. Scuba dive at one of Dubai's many dive centres

Dive Centre

If you’re travelling with older children, you may want to check out one of the city’s many dive centres for a fun-filled afternoon you will never forget. Most centres offer PADI-certified qualifications and certificates for keen divers, with trained experts who will show you all the ropes. Once you’ve gained your confidence, it’s time to get out and explore what lies beneath the glistening Persian Gulf.

4. Be dazzled by dolphins at the Dubai Dolphinarium

Dolphinarium

While were on the subject of the Middle East’s majestic marine life, it’s worth mentioning the superb Dubai Dolphinarium. Dolphins are highly intelligent and charming creatures! The Dolphinarium hosts regular shows and performances that the whole family will love. There’s even the chance to get up close and personal with these fun-loving mammals – a dream come true for anyone who loves dolphins.

5. Take in breathtaking views from the Burj Khalifa

Burj Khalifa

The Burj Khalifa is the world’s tallest building, it stands at 829.8 metres - that’s twice as high as the Empire State Building! Seeing is believing when it comes to this 163-storey tower, which dominates the Dubai landscape. But don’t just admire the tower from the comfort of your hotel balcony, grab the family and take them to the tower’s breathtaking observation deck. It’s here that you’ll find stunning panoramic views of the whole of Dubai and beyond.

6. Be adventurous at the Aquaventure Water Park

Aquaventure

Dubai’s two main water parks are legendary. Competing for the crown of the city’s best park is the fabulous Aquaventure Water Park, which can be found in the Atlantis, The Palm complex. One of the main attractions at this magnificent park is the nerve-wracking Leap of Faith slide, which measures at 9 stories tall. Speed down a near vertical drop and through a tank of shark-infested waters if you dare! The water parks in Dubai are out of this world, and the Aquaventure Water Park is no different with attractions for guests of all ages.

7. Explore the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo

Schools of tropical fish, sharks and stingrays are just some of the incredible marine life you’ll find at the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo. Dubai holidays are not complete without a visit to this first-rate attraction, which can be found in The Dubai Mall complex.

8. Ride the rollercoasters at Dubai’s newest theme park IMG Worlds Of Adventure

Rollercoaster

Looking for even more fun things to do in Dubai? If you’re planning to visit Dubai from August 15th 2016 onwards, why not check out the brand new IMG Worlds of Adventure theme park? Measuring 1.5 million square feet and featuring four themed zones – Cartoon Network, Marvel Comics, Dinosaurs and a central boulevard – the theme park is set to be Dubai’s biggest yet!

9. Head to one of the many beaches in Dubai for some fun in the sun

Dubai Beach

Whether you’re going for swim, helping your little ones build a mega sandcastle or planning to enjoy a game of volleyball, Dubai beaches are the perfect place for fun in the sun. You’ll find that most hotels in Dubai boast their own private beach, meaning you’ll be able to kick your feet up and relax while your children enjoy themselves in a safe environment.

10. Test your nerves on the waves with fun water sports

Dubai Watersports

If relaxation isn’t at the top of your list of holiday activities, you may want to test your nerves on the waves by taking part in some high-octane water sports. Jet skiing, surfing, wakeboarding… it’s all here for you! You can book most experiences directly through your Dubai resort or hotel, otherwise there are numerous water sports centres dotted all around the city.
