by Travelbag on 08 January 2016, 13:01PM

Dubai is a place that everyone should visit at least once. It’s such a unique destination and is one of the most interesting modern cities in the world.

We understand that if you decide to go on holiday to Dubai that you’ll want to spend some of your time soaking up the sun on a beach but there are also plenty of fun activities for you to try too. In this two-part guide we aim to highlight some of the best.

Travelbag’s Top 10 fun activities in Dubai

Go for a safari ride

One day, you should definitely head to the desert and go on a safari ride in a 4x4. Your expert guide will give you the ride of your life. You’ll be left speechless as you race up and down the sand dunes and it’ll get your adrenaline pumping for sure. (Please note, if you’re pregnant or suffer from back problems this is one activity you might want to miss).

Afterwards, your guide will take you to the rustic Bedouin campsite to enjoy some good food and entertainment. You’ll be able to take a ride on a camel and watch a belly dancer perform while listening to traditional Arabic music.

Hit the slopes

If you want to try something a bit different then why not visit Ski Dubai? It’s part of the Mall of the Emirates, so why not hit the slopes after a fun morning shopping? You can hire all the equipment you need and you can ski, snowboard or toboggan on real snow.

You’ll be blown away by how beautiful the world’s biggest snow park is and having the opportunity to see a colony of Gentoo and King Penguins up close and personal is a real treat. Ski Dubai has something to offer people of all ages and there are two excellent restaurants for you to take your pick from if you fancy a bite to eat.

Admire Dubai from the sky

During your trip to Dubai you really should take to the skies in order to get a better idea of the size and scale of this wonderful ultra-modern city. Hop on-board a seaplane and let your pilot take you over Dubai Creek, Port Rashid, Downtown Dubai, Burj Al Arab, Palm Jumeirah, Burj Khalifa, Deira Clock Tower and the World Islands. You’ll be able to take some incredible pictures, so don’t forget your camera!

Visit Aquaventure Water Park

If you’re holidaying with children or teenagers then the Aquaventure Water Park is a must. It’s located on The Palm and it’s the best water park in the Middle East. You’ll love the Aquaconda, Zoomerango, Slitherine and Poseidon’s Revenge slides. If you’re feeling brave you can take on the Leap of Faith but it certainly isn’t for the faint hearted. It’s a vertical drop from nine stories high, so you’re bound to feel a bit queasy as you sit on the edge and push yourself off.

You can also go on a shark safari and feed some Cownose Rays during your time at the Aquaventure Water Park which is something your whole family can enjoy.

Check out the Lost Chambers Aquarium

Also located on The Palm is the Lost Chambers Aquarium. It’s a wonderful aquarium with lots of interactive shows. It’s home to over 65,000 sea creatures, including two albino baby alligators. If you’re staying in the 5 star Atlantis Hotel, then entry is free.

You should also see the sea lions at Sea Lion Point and swim with dolphins in Dolphin Bay if you have time.
