Tips for planning your honeymoon in the Maldives

by Travelbag on 05 November 2015, 09:11AM

If you want a romantic, unforgettable honeymoon then the Maldives is the perfect destination. It’s one of the most romantic places in the world and it offers so much luxury that you’ll both feel like superstars.

The best time to visit the islands is between December and April as this is dry season. If you’re keen divers then you might prefer to visit during wet season, May to November, as there’s usually increased water clarity during this time.

Choosing your resort

The Maldives offers so many wonderful resorts that you’ll be spoilt for choice. Here at Travelbag.co.uk we cater for budgets of all sizes, so you're bound to find just what you’re looking for at a price you can afford.

A place to relax

If you want to be able to escape from the world then why not opt for the beautiful Makunudu Island. This resort offers 36 beachfront bungalows, surrounded by thick vegetation. It’s the perfect place to simply enjoy each other’s company and some peace and quiet. It’s more tranquil than a lot of the other resorts so there’s not much nightlife but there are two restaurants to dine in and a spa.

A place to be pampered

Your honeymoon should be the best holiday you’ve ever been on so why not treat yourself and stay at the One & Only Reethi Rah. It’s famous for being the most glamourous resort in the Maldives and offers a standard of luxury that the other resorts simply can’t match.

You’ll be left speechless when you see the size of your villa, as the One & Only Reethi Rah offers some of the biggest and most beautiful villas in the whole of the Maldives. You’ll be able to spend your time relaxing in sheer bliss with a book or cocktail on one of the white sand beaches or by your private pool. If you want to explore you’ll need to use one of the resort’s bikes or club cars to get around the island.

This resort’s facilities are pretty unbeatable, there’s a diving school, fitness centre, luxury spa and three outstanding restaurants. In the evenings there are plenty of events and shows so you can dance the night away until the early hours if you wish. If you want to enjoy an evening in then you can dine in your villa – what could be more perfect!

There are so many different resorts to choose from that it’s impossible for us to list them all in this blog post. Choosing your activities

During your honeymoon you’ll have lots of opportunities to try new things. Island hopping is lots of fun and allows you to see different islands and learn about the history of the Maldives. You’ll probably want to visit the capital Malé one day and explore its markets and museum together.

Savour every moment

The Maldives is a holiday destination that will capture your heart. You’ll enjoy every day you spend on the islands, whether it’s a day spent relaxing together, wandering round a lagoon or exploring a fishing village.

Whatever you end up doing during your stay, make sure you take lots of photos to show your friends and family when you get back home. You’ll only go on honeymoon together once, so make sure you never forget how wonderful it was.
