As befitting its status as one of the world’s true global metropolises — and the most populous city in the United Arab Emirates — Dubai has become a major music festival destination that attracts fans from across the Middle East and beyond.

Dubai International Jazz Festival

The Dubai International Jazz Festival is the city’s most established and prestigious music event that boasts an eclectic, annual line-up of world renowned artists. Past headliners and noteable acts have included Sting, John Legend, James Blunt, Jamie Cullum and Olly Murs as well as groups such as Deep Purple, The Script and Kool & The Gang. Every February, thousands of revellers descend upon Dubai Media City for this special, three-day extravaganza, which has won a number of regional awards for best music festival in the Middle East, and is now a firm fixture on Dubai’s annual events calendar.

DXBeach

The big newcomer on the city’s music festival scene is DXBeach, which boasts its own incredible bill of world class talent at a beach-side location, ideal for those who to lose themselves in the music and feel the sand beneath their feet. Bringing together many of the best DJs and live performers around, the festival carries with it a more relaxed and informal vibe than its more established rivals. Previous big name acts to have topped the bill at DXBeach include Mark Ronson, John Dahlback, Nightmares On Wax alongside many other in-vogue and emerging artists bringing their cutting edge sounds to Dubai. Find it every April at Zero Gravity, Dubai Marina.

Sandance

If you’re wanting a festival with an even greater focus on beats, DJs, rhythm and dancing however, there’s only one event to sate your interest. Sandance brings together the best hip hop and dance from the old eras and the new to create a truly unmissable festival experience every October at Atlantis Beach on the Palm. In years gone by, Rudimental, De La Soul, Empire Of The Sun and Clean Bandit have all wowed the crowds at this live, loud and yet luxurious destination for fans of drum and bass, rap, hip hop, electronic dance music and so much more.

With its world-leading shops and boutiques, attractions, hotels and sun, Dubai is a unique location for music festival goers, combining an exceptional, year-round climate with fantastic travel connections, opulent glamour and breath-taking landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa; the world’s tallest skyscraper. Dubai offers festival fans the chance to indulge their ears, and their senses, in the latest and greatest musical acts from around the world in a truly remarkable city of grandeur and infinite possibilities.
