Intro2

New York is a vegetarian’s dream. With so many different cuisines available from the city’s thousands of restaurants and pop up stands, it’s easy to find mouthwatering veggie food on every block. We spoke to some of the best veggie and vegan restaurants in New York to find out what makes them stand out from the crowd.

Peacefood Café
www.peacefoodcafe.com

We have two locations in New York City, one uptown (upper west side) and one
Downtown (Union Square/ Greenwich Village area). We are all vegan and we make everything we serve – we even have an on premise vegan bakery at both locations. We offer a country, cozy atmosphere uptown and an urban chic atmosphere downtown.

Franchia
www.franchia.com

Franchia's creative vegan menu draws from an array of Asian palates, from the Korean inspired Bibimbap series to vegan sushi, vegetarian dumplings, appetisers such as the Peking Bun as well as an interesting selection of noodle dishes, small plates and tapas. Franchia also features a delightful selection of teas from Korea, China and India. Franchia's unique multi-tiered space, with a spectacular mural ceiling reminiscent of a Korean palace, is a space where one can experience dining in a beautiful and tranquil ambiance.

Red Bamboo
www.redbamboo-nyc.com

Red Bamboo has been open for 13 years, specialising in serving only vegetarian and vegan cuisine. We are known for our faux meat and seafood. Our most popular dish is our vegan BBQ buffalo wings that resemble a chicken drumstick and has a wooden stick in the middle, like a bone. Besides the mock meat we also have vegetables and salads.
