On arrival at the 4* Maritim Crystals Beach Hotel we were warmly greeted by the staff in the beautiful high-ceiling lobby who took our baggage straight from us to our rooms. We were then led to reception and given a tropical cocktail and cold flannel which is always refreshing given how warm Mauritius can be. We instantly felt like we were in holiday bliss!

The hotel is situated on the East-Coast of Mauritius on a beautiful stretch of sugary white sand. The Superior Double Room was kitted out with a contemporary feel with a hint of local architecture, making us feel right at home. We could also look out onto the idyllic beach from our balcony which was perfect for enjoying the tropical breeze. The great thing about Maritim Crystals is it offers sea-views or lush tropical gardens from all rooms and suites.

The hotel is very expansive and we were able to find our own serene corners and chill out on the deck chairs and lounges around the various swimming pools.

We wanted to feel revitalised, so we decided to spoil ourselves and book into the opulent Crystals Wellness & Beauty Care for a spa treatment. The Crystals hot-stone massage is a must-do. It left us feeling rejuvenated, and our therapists were friendly and attentive.

In the morning we woke up to a beautiful buffet selection at Le Ferney 1650. It displays only the freshest breakfast options with European, Creole, Asian and Indian influence.

The Maritim Crystals offer yoga and zumba classes as well as  a variety of water-sports, including a glass-bottom boat to enjoy stunning Mauritius.

For dinner, there are so many cosmopolitan choices. I really recommend Les Quartre Cocos 1822 for a romantic dinner. Here, we experienced authentic Creole cuisine overlooking the peaceful pond in a romantic setting.

I truly recommend Maritim Crystals Beach Hotel as it caters to all leisure travellers. Families will love the supervised water-activities for the kids, and this is also an extraordinary honeymoon destination.
