Year’s Eve Around The World, The 9 Best Displays And Where To See Them

New Year’s Eve is just around the corner and we can’t wait! Have you made any plans for December 31st? Will you be painting the town red? How about spending NYE in one of these incredible cities?

We’ve compiled a list of our 9 favourite places to spend NYE, along with some information on the various time zones. So if you’re heading to Sydney (11 hours ahead of London), you’ll know exactly what time to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

1. London’s Calling

Three million people will visit the capital on New Year’s Eve to watch London’s magnificent firework display. The show is nothing short of spectacular and never fails to impress. Keep your eyes on Big Ben and watch the city light up when the clock strikes 12.

2. Down Under in Sydney – 11 hours ahead

Going Down Under? If you’re planning a trip to Australia for NYE, be sure to head to Sydney for one of the most bonza displays ever. The Sydney Harbour Firework Display attracts more than a million people every year and is not to be missed!

3. Hong Kong Garden – 8 hours ahead

Few firework displays match up to Hong Kong’s New Year’s Eve bash. Revellers from all over the world are expected to pack out the Victoria Harbour for Hong Kong’s annual celebrations. The show has been described as an eight-minute “pyromusical display”.

4. Be amazed in Bangkok – 7 hours ahead

Bangkok is a magical place to spend New Year’s Eve. The Thai capital attracts hundreds of thousands at their annual bash, which takes place around the Central World Shopping Plaza. Expect fireworks, light shows and a party atmosphere.

5. Dazzling Dubai – 4 hours ahead

Dubai is known throughout the world for its epic New Year’s celebrations. The city’s light show includes fireworks, laser beams and one of the best LED shows we’ve ever seen. In fact, the show is so extraordinary it broke the Guinness World Record for “World’s Largest LED Illuminated Façade” in 2014.

6. Celebrate in Cape Town – 2 hours ahead

Holidaying in South Africa over the New Year? Make your way to the Victoria and Albert waterfront in Cape Town for the city’s breathtaking display.  Keep an eye on the clock tower and prepare for the big countdown!
