World Cup Quiz Ecuador

by Travelbag on 12 May 2014, 10:05AM

intro4

This week we are looking at the countries in Group E. Honduras has only qualified for the World Cup twice before Brazil 2014 and have never passed the group stage. On the other hand Les Blues have won many trophies including the World Cup in 1998. However, their recent form hasn't been great while Honduras returned to the top 30 for the first time in 12 years. Switzerland is the highest ranking team in Group E but their World Cup track record isn't too great. Ecuador has a great quality and flair in their game but has never been able to convert this into a trophy. So the group should be wide open! Who do you think will go through?

intro2

Ecuador may be a tiny country, but its geographical diversity is staggering and changes dramatically from its eastern to western borders. Its bio-diverse Amazon rainforest is alive with swooping scarlet macaws and spider monkeys bouncing off virgin canopy, while stunning eco-lodges dot the basin floor. Up in the culturally rich highland area, colourful Indian markets, smoking volcanoes and striking colonial towns are in abundance. The Andes then slip away to the lush coastal area, a land of mangroves, empty beaches and bounteous tropical plantations.
