Sun City- South Africa

by Samantha Wadasck on 21 November 2012, 10:11AM Sun City- South Africa Samantha Wadasck, a consultant from our Alton branch reports back from her recent trip to South Africa I was really lucky to be chosen as one of the attendees on this year’s familiarisation trip to Sun City in South Africa. Myself and seven of my colleagues had four nights in this fantastic resort destination, located two hours drive from Johannesburg. It was the first time I’d been to Sun City, I had heard so much about it so was looking forward to experiencing it first hand, it’s always great to be able to talk to clients about your personal experiences at resorts and destinations. Sun City is a large resort, which consists of four hotels, we were staying at the Palace Of The Lost City. Our rooms were lovely, very spacious with enormous bathrooms. I would have loved ...

Viva Las Vegas for Ladies

Viva Las Vegas for Ladies

Magic FM's Breakfast presenter Verity Geere recently took a trip to Las Vegas with a friend. Here she reports back for Travelbag on her time in entertainment capital of the world.   Neon lights, the constant cha-ching of slot machines, huge billboards, and a breath-taking heat was my lasting memory of Las Vegas, after visiting aged 15. More recently, as a 33 year old broadcast journalist fo...

One night in Kuala Lumpur

One night in Kuala Lumpur

…and the world’s your oyster’ goes the hit song from the musical ‘Chess’. Well, almost…Before musical connoisseurs implore me to check my facts, I am fully aware the correct title is ‘One Night in Bangkok’, but my sentiment remains intact. From Brighton to the Bahamas

From Brighton to the Bahamas

Zara Kitching, manager of our Brighton store, reports on her recent trip to The Bahamas.   FridayThere is nothing quite like starting your day wearing your winter warmers on a chilly Friday morning at Heathrow and ending it with a strawberry daiquiri in hand, relaxing beneath the bronzing rays of the bountiful Caribbean sun just a few hours later… It is a culture shock of the very be...

Olly's Asia adventure

Olly's Asia adventure

Holed up in a Ho Chi Minh street-side café, slurping (unashamedly loudly) my way through a bowl of noodles and casually spectating at the fast-paced sport that is Vietnamese daily life, I plot my next move. It’s a trickier task than it sounds because as soon as I step into the sea of pedestrians and motorcyclists, I am committed to participating in the game – no time for second t...

What's In Your Travel Bag

What's In Your Travel Bag

One question that is often asked in the Travelbag office is: “What is the one item that you simply cannot travel without?” As you might expect, this evokes some truly weird and wonderful responses. We won’t name and shame, but some of the responses that came out of the office included a Nintendo DS, a husband and even a bottle of tomato ketchup. We didn’t want to stop at...
