Embark on a whirlwind Balinese adventure with this multi-centre trip. Covering two enviable beach resorts, Nusa Dua and Seminyak, along with the breathtakingly beautiful cultural outpost of Ubud. Begin in Nusa Dua, where the beaches are pristine, and luxury resorts and spas are dotted along the soft sand before moving onto Seminyak for striking sunsets and fabulous food. You’ll end your journey in Ubud, situated in the heart of the island and a must-visit due to its epic scenery and well-preserved culture. Expect markets filled with traditional handicrafts, Balinese dancing and monkeys galore!
Kick off your Bali escapade in the glorious beach destination of Nusa Dua. This chilled-out stretch of coastline houses luxury hotels, prestigious golf courses and superb spas. The beaches here are among the best in Bali, with crystal clear shallow water and soft white sand, making it a perfect swimming spot for the whole family. Between October and April, conditions in the nearby Sawangan are ideal for Surfing, with swells reaching up to four metres. Culture vultures can embark on some temple hopping, ensuring to include the most impressive of the bunch, Geger Temple, a clifftop shrine with sprawling views of the Indian Ocean.
Head slightly north to your next stop, Seminyak - the more laid-back relative of Kuta, Bali’s party hotspot. A popular spot centred around the shopping hub of Basangkasa Street, where boutique fashion stores and quirky surf shops line the streets. The area recently had a boom food-wise, too, with world-class restaurants popping up left, right and centre! Follow the sound of lapping waves to the beach for the famous Seminyak sunset. Watch the sky light up with vibrant red and purple hues as you sit back and sip exotic cocktails in one of the laid-back bars found dotted along the shoreline.
After living it up on Bali’s idyllic beaches, it’s time to head inland to the cultural epicentre of Ubud. Nestled in the island’s uplands, the scenery is spectacular. Expect lush tropical jungles, terraced rice fields and ornate temples and shrines at every turn. Ubud has a fantastic reputation for the arts, authentic experiences and, more recently, yoga retreats and luxury spas. Be sure to visit the infamous Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, where inquisitive Balinese long-tailed monkeys frolic in the trees and dash beneath your feet. There are resorts in Ubud to suit everyone, whether you’re looking for a laid-back rainforest lodge or a luxury private villa with its own infinity pool.
