Day 1: Arrive Denver:
On arrival into Denver Airport, make your own way to your hotel and check-in for an overnight stay. After meeting your Tour Director, the remainder of the day is free.

Day 2: Denver - Rocky Mountain National Park - Cheyenne:
Take a city tour of Denver, the 'Mile High City', before admiring the mountain scenery along the Trail Ridge Road through stunning Rocky Mountain National Park. Continue to the Western-style town of Cheyenne, and spend an evening exploring its honkytonk bars.

Day 3: Cheyenne - Mount Rushmore - Deadwood:
Cross from Wyoming into South Dakota for visits to Fort Laramie and the majestic Mount Rushmore, where four great presidents' faces are carved into the hillside. Overnight in the former gold rush town of Deadwood.

Day 4: Deadwood - Cody:
Travel through the Big Horn Mountains of South Dakota, en-route to an overnight stay in Cody to see the Old West memorabilia in the Buffalo Bill Historic Centre.

Day 5: Cody - Yellowstone National Park:
It's just a short drive into the geothermal wonderland of Yellowstone, America's first national park, for a full day of sightseeing amongst its geysers, canyons, waterfalls. Keep an eye out for the park's plentiful wildlife today, which includes herds of elk and bison.

Day 6: Yellowstone - Grand Tetons - Jackson:
This morning's drive is past the rugged mountains of Grand Teton National Park, its peaks created by a series of ancient earthquakes along a single fault line. Continue to the resort town of Jackson for an overnight stay, where tonight you can visit the unique Million Dollar Saloon.

Day 7: Jackson - Salt Lake City:
Enter the Mormon state of Utah today. The followers of Brigham Young decided Salt Lake City was to be the Mormons' chosen place, and our sightseeing includes the distinctive State Capitol and the fabulous Mormon Tabernacle in Temple Square.

Day 8: Salt Lake City - Bryce Canyon:
Drive south for a visit to Bryce Canyon National Park. Spend the afternoon admiring and hiking amongst its fascinating, multi-coloured sandstone formations set against the bright blue desert sky.

Day 9: Bryce - Zion National Park - Grand Canyon:
Dramatic rock formations carved by the forces of wind, water and time characterise Zion National Park. Continue to lovely Lake Powell, whose colourful rocky shoreline is the work of man rather than nature. Pass through the Navajo Indian Reservation en-route to the Grand Canyon and stop for photographs at various spectacular viewing areas along the South Rim.

Day 10: Grand Canyon - Las Vegas:
Travel along part of historic Route 66 through desert scenery to the glittering oasis of non-stop entertainment that could only be Las Vegas. The 10-day tour concludes with an early evening arrival into the city.

Day 11: Las Vegas - Death Valley - Mammoth Lakes*:
Travel to fascinating Death Valley, which at 282 feet below sea level is the second lowest, and one of the hottest places on Earth. Later, climb into the refreshingly cool mountains of the Sierra Nevada for an overnight stay in the alpine resort of Mammoth Lakes.
Accommodation: Overnight: Mammoth Mountain Inn, * Please note in shoulder season, the closure of the Tioga Pass may make it necessary to overnight in Fresno or Visalia.
Day 12: Mammoth Lakes - Yosemite - San Francisco:
This morning (except in early and late season, when closed due to snowfall), cross the Tioga Pass into Yosemite National Park. After a sightseeing tour of beautiful Yosemite Valley, continue to San Francisco where the tour concludes on arrival for guests on the 12-day option.

Day 13: San Francisco:
Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore all that San Francisco has to offer, or take an optional day trip to the Napa Valley to experience wine tasting at its leading vineyards.
Day 14: San Francisco - Pismo Beach:
Time to say goodbye to San Francisco for a visit to both Monterey and the charming seaside town of Carmel, with their glorious settings on the Monterey Peninsula. Heading back inland for a while, and then back to the coast, we continue south for an overnight stay at Pismo Beach.

Day 15: Pismo Beach - Los Angeles Departure:
Enjoy a drive down the Pacific coast to the palm-lined streets of Santa Barbara, known as the 'American Riviera'. The 15-day tour concludes this evening in Los Angeles, after a city sightseeing tour to introduce Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica.
