Essential Honolulu

Day 1: Arrive Honolulu:
On arrival into Honolulu receive the traditional meet & greet with lei flowers and then transfer by coach to your chosen hotel for a three-night stay. The remainder of the day is free to explore Waikiki on your own. Nightlife is a mixture of live music from traditional to modern, and there’s a wide choice of restaurants, clubs and bars.

Day 2: Day at Leisure / Hawaiian Lu’au:
Wake up to fresh air and sunshine and spend the day either relaxing on the beach or exploring Waikiki. If you’re feeling energetic, climb to the summit of Diamond Head and enjoy spectacular views of the city below. This evening, enjoy the sights and sounds of a traditional Hawaiian lu’au, including a delicious buffet dinner (see page 136 for further details).

Day 3: Waikiki / Arizona Memorial:
Relive the dramatic events of Pearl Harbor on an informative tour to the memorial of the USS Arizona, which sank under Japanese attack in 1941. The event was to change the course of world history, and today the memorial is a fitting tribute to the many servicemen who lost their lives (see page 136). On returning to Waikiki, the remainder of the day is at leisure. You may wish to visit the marine conservation area at Hanauma Bay, a perfect spot for sunbathing or snorkelling.

Day 4: Depart Honolulu:
Time to say ‘mahalo’ to Waikiki today, with a transfer back to the airport for your onward or return flight. You can combine the Essential Honolulu city package with a visit to Big Island, Kauai or Maui, so your flight today could be just a quick inter-island hop. Please ask for details and prices.
