3 Day Abel Tasman Sea Kayaking & Walking Experience

This tour is a combination of the best of the park - walk in the native forest and sea kayak the coast. Then at night return to comfortable beachfront lodges for gourmet meals, fine wine and good company.

Departures: Wed, Sat, Mon (Itinerary may be reversed)

Day 1: Nelson - Torrent Bay (sea kayak 4 hrs)
Start with an early morning pick-up from Nelson. On arrival at Kaiteriteri, your guide will settle you into your kayaks for a full training session. Paddle along the coast, discovering pristine bays and beaches before stopping for lunch in one of them. Continue to the charming Torrent Bay Lodge. This relaxed holiday home is on the edge of a golden beach, so enjoy some time here before dinner. (LD)

Day 2: Torrent Bay - Awaroa (sea kayak 4 hrs & walk 1.5 hrs)
After breakfast leave Torrent Bay for a morning of beach hopping up the coast, taking in points of interest including Frenchman’s Bay and Falls River. Stop for lunch to relax, swim or sunbathe and then visit the seal colony at Tonga Island. Leave the kayaks at Onetahuti and walk over the Tonga Saddle to Meadowbank Homestead. Here the Wilson family provides guests with the unique experience of staying at a re-created historic family homestead. Gaze at the stars before enjoying dinner and a well-deserved glass of wine. Day 3: Awaroa – Nelson (walk 2 hrs)
Cross the Awaroa Estuary and walk through the northern forests of the park with magnificent specimens of Nikau Palm and Rata trees. At Toraranui join the comfortable launch to cruise the coastline back to Nelson. (BL)
