Tour HLH – 3 hrs

Depart from the township of Franz Josef and fly over the spectacular glacier icefall of Franz Josef, found in the stunning Westland National Park, before an ice landing on the glacier. Viewing the huge flow of ice and the deep trench that it has carved through the mountains from the air is truly unforgettable. Feel the snow and ice beneath your feet and from here you will hike with an experienced guide for approximately two hours before returning by helicopter to Franz Josef. This is an unforgettable experience, getting close to the ice caves, deep crevasses, pinnacles and seracs of this pristine alpine environment. Be witness to a landscape in the making and see the extraordinary colours of the ice-flow from the air and the glacier itself.
