Day 1: Auckland – Bay of Islands
Head north from Auckland, travelling through picturesque subtropical countryside, to the breathtaking Bay of Islands. Take time to visit the Waitangi Treaty House, where the treaty of Waitangi was signed in 1840, resulting in the country becoming a British colony. (240km / 149miles)

Day 2: Bay of Islands – Auckland
Today, why not try an early morning dolphin-watch cruise and swim with the dolphins – a unique experience! Say goodbye to the beautiful Bay of Islands and make your way back down to Auckland for your overnight stay. (240km / 149miles)

Day 3: Auckland – Coromandel Peninsula

Day 4: Coromandel Peninsula – Rotorua
Visit Cathedral Cove and be amazed by the beauty of this area. Here, a naturally-formed spire divides two glorious white sand beaches. Continue south to Hot Water Beach and between low and mid-tide dig a hole in the sand and relax in the natural thermal hot water springs,for your very own private spa experience. Continue south to the ‘Thermal Wonderland’: Rotorua. (157km / 156miles)

Day 5: Rotorua – Napier
Today, journey south to Napier, famous for its beautiful gardens, superb wineries and Art Deco architecture. Visit Cape Kidnappers to see the largest mainland gannet colony or explore the famous century-old Mission Vineyard. Overnight at either Mon Logis, a 1915 two-storey veranda villa described by the owners as "a little piece of France nestled in the Hawke’s Bay wine region," or at The County Hotel, a renovated Edwardian building in the heart of Napier.
