Day 1: Arrive Vancouver
Upon arrival in Vancouver make your own way to your downtown hotel where you will spend the next two nights. This evening join your tour director and fellow travellers for a welcome dinner and reception. (D)

Day 2: Vancouver
Cosmopolitan Vancouver offers a blend of modern amenities, a fascinating history and stunning natural wonders. Today, see its most spectacular sights including Chinatown, Queen Elizabeth Park, historic Gastown and famed Stanley Park. Spend the afternoon at leisure, or catch the ferry over to North Vancouver to visit the Capilano Suspension Bridge. (B)

Day 3: Vancouver – Victoria - The Canadian
Today you will travel by ferry to British-influenced Victoria on Vancouver Island. Admire the floral displays in colourful Butchart Gardens, then enjoy a scenic floatplane flight back to Vancouver. From here, board 'The Canadian' train to Jasper and journey towards the magnificent Canadian Rockies. 'The Canadian' features original 1950s rail cars that have been restored to meet modern standards while retaining their classic Art-Deco style and the unique atmosphere of bygone train travel. Dinner is served on board. (BD)

Day 4: The Canadian – Jasper
Awake to the views of North America’s most spectacular mountain scenery. Don’t miss the vistas of towering peaks from Tauck's private domed observation lounge. After crossing the Continental Divide into Alberta, your journey will come to an end early this afternoon in the town of Jasper. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for a two-night stay and a relaxing dinner this evening. (BD)

Day 5: Jasper
Enjoy a full day absorbing the scenic grandeur of the mountains and lakes surrounding your resort. Spend your day bike riding, golfing, swimming, simply relaxing or, for the adventurous, there is rafting on the Athabasca River or horseback rides into the nearby forest. Alternatively, head into the town of Jasper to browse round its boutiques and attractions. (BD)

Day 6: Jasper – Lake Louise
Travel along the Icefields Parkway between Jasper and Lake Louise, one of the most beautiful drives in North America. The journey winds between snow-capped peaks and immense hanging glaciers. You may see bighorn sheep or even bears. Ride in a specially designed 'Ice Explorer' onto the Athabasca Glacier, part of the Columbia Icefields, the largest mass of ice outside the Arctic Circle. On arrival at Lake Louise, check into your spectacular lakefront accomodation for an overnight stay. (BLD)

Day 7: Lake Louise - Banff
Today you will travel into Yoho National Park to see its many natural wonders and the man-made engineering feat of the Spiral Tunnels. Cross the Continental Divide, and travel to the resort town of Banff and check into the majestic Fairmont Banff Springs for a two-night stay. The remainder of the afternoon and evening are yours to explore or relax. (BL)

Day 8: Banff National Park
This morning, travel through the Bow River Valley to board a raft for a gentle float trip along the Bow River. Enjoy the rest of the day as you please, perhaps taking advantage of the many activities available at the hotel, venture into Banff for some sightseeing or shopping, or enjoying a hike along one of the many trails in Banff National Park. Banff is surrounded by mile-high peaks, so why not consider taking a gondola ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountain which affords truly breathtaking views over the town and National Park. This evening, join your fellow guests for a memorable farewell dinner. (BD)

Day 9: Banff – Calgary (Departure)
After breakfast this morning, head for the city of Calgary, situated at the western edge of the prairies, where your tour concludes on arrival at Calgary Airport at approx. 10am. Please ask for details if you would like to extend your stay in Calgary. (B)
