Touring Canada By Rail
Famous around the world as one of the most memorable trips of a lifetime, this journey through Canada’s varied and majestic landscapes departs three times a week, year round from Vancouver and Toronto calling at Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Jasper and other towns and cities en-route.
No matter what time of year you choose to travel there is always something to see, as the lakes and forests give way to vast prairie lands before traversing the majestic Rocky Mountains en-route to the Pacific.
Although the complete journey takes three days and nights and is one of the longest train journeys in the world, it is possible to use the train for shorter trips, although you’ll wish you’d taken the whole journey!
First class train travel in Silver & Blue Class features the ultimate ‘land-cruise’ experience: excellent food, freshly prepared on-board by chefs, cosy accommodations and attentive service, exclusive use of the Park Car which allows 360-degree views of the surrounding scenery and an Art Deco-style Bullet Lounge. It is the ideal place to meet and socialise with your fellow passengers whilst enjoying a pre-dinner drink from the bar or a complimentary cup of tea or coffee. You could, of course, just relax and watch the world go by.
Silver & Blue Service Includes
• Dedicated check-in and baggage assistance - Enjoy pre-boarding privileges and priority baggage handling at all the major stations.
• One-hour pre-boarding in Toronto and Vancouver - So that you can enjoy the whole experience you are able to board early to enable you to become familiar with the on-board facilities.
• The Park Car and Lounges - At the rear of the train is a peaceful environment combining elegance and comfort. The three separate salons, reserved for the exclusive use of Silver & Blue class passengers, each have their particular charm. Sit back and relax, curl up with a good book or perhaps chat with other travellers who have come from all over the world to enjoy this one-of-a-kind experience.
• The Dome and upper observation deck - Understand the magic that only train travel can offer, with 360-degree views of impressive landscapes.
• All meals as appropriate to your journey - The Silver & Blue dining car is elegant but not pretentious, polished yet casual. Passengers find that its style and ambience combine with the spectacular views outside to create a special mood – whether at breakfast, lunch or any of the three evening sittings (sunset, twilight or 9:00pm moonlight service). On-board dining is an experience not to be missed, with delightful, freshly prepared meals in the best railway tradition. China, silverware and linen complement an enticing menu and an all-Canadian wine list.

Departing from either Jasper or Prince Rupert three times a week, the Skeena winds through the Yellowhead Pass, across British Columbia’s interior plateau and along the mighty Skeena River, on a 725-mile trip. The train stops en-route in Prince George where you will overnight at a local hotel (not included), before continuing onwards early the next morning.
