Day 1: Arrive Halifax
Upon arrival into Halifax International Airport, make your way to the Alamo Car depot to pick up your hire car before making your way to your downtown hotel. On arrival receive your personalized documentation kit and the rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 2: Halifax to Pictou
Say goodbye to Halifax and drive north via Truro to Pictou, one of the largest communities along the Northumberland shore. This community is rich in Scottish heritage and has a delightful newly developed waterfront area.
Accommodation: Overnight: Consulate Inn.
Day 3: Pictou to Baddeck
Leave Pictou and continue on to Cape Breton via the Canso Causeway and continue on to Baddeck. This scenic village overlooking the beautiful Bras d’Or Lakes and the most notable resident historically was Alexander Graham Bell - you can visit the National Historic Site named after him.

Day 4: Baddeck
Depart Baddeck and take time to explore the western shore of Cape Breton Island along the Ceildh Trail. Highlights include the Provincial Parks at Long Point and Margaree Harbour, where you can take a cruise of the area. In the afternoon drive to Cheticamp and enjoy a whale-watching our before returning to Baddeck

Day 5: Cabot Trail
Today you will follow the famous Cabot Trail, one of the most spectacular drives in all of Canada. The trail winds around the rocky outcrops of Cape Breton’s northern shore, ascending to the incredible plateaus of Cape Breton Highlands National Park which is full of hiking trails and beautiful viewing points.

Day 6: Baddeck to Louisbourg
From Baddeck drive to Sydney, Nova Scotia’s third largest city and continue on to Glace Bay, home of the Miners Museum and Marconi National Historical Site. From here continue on to Louisbourg, home to the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, the largest historical reconstruction in North America.

Day 7: Louisbourg to Liscomb Mills
Leaving Louisbourg continue on the Fleur-de-Lis Trail following the coastal route to St. Peter’s, where you will join the Bras d’Or Lakes Trail. You will drive through Guysborough, home to ‘Wilma the Beluga Whale’ – a resident for several years! You will then drive through many picturesque villages and communities including Canso and Goldboro

Day 8: Liscomb Mills to Halifax
Bid farewell to Liscomb Mills and take a leisurely drive back to Halifax. En route visit Musqodoboit Harbour & Valley, a haven for nature lovers, and Martinique Beach which is the longest beach in the province. Drop off your rental car on arrival into Halifax ready for your onward journey.
