This tour is the perfect cross-Kimberley experience for the mature traveller, staying in a working cattle station homestead which provides a fascinating insight into Outback life.

Day 1: Broome – Imintji
From historic Broome we travel to Derby, marking the beginning of our Gibb River Road journey. Visit the Boab Prison Tree, then continue on to tranquil Windjana Gorge National Park. Take a short walk into the gorge, where limestone cliffs were an underwater reef during the Devonian Age. (LD)

Day 2: Bell Gorge – Mornington Station
Enjoy a refreshing dip below a waterfall in the lower pools of Bell Gorge before heading to Mornington Station, over 300,000 hectares of conservation land straddling the majestic Fitzroy River. Enjoy home-style meals and comfortable accommodation at Mornington Wilderness Camp, right in the heart of the Kimberley. (BLD)

Day 3: Mornington Station – Mornington Wilderness Sanctuary
Explore the vast and beautiful area of Mornington Wilderness Sanctuary. Take a nature walk through this unique area with its varying tropical ecosystems. Walk to spectacular Dimond Gorge and enjoy a swim at pretty Cadjeput Waterhole.

Day 4: Galvans Gorge – Manning Gorge
Travel to Galvans Gorge and Manning Gorge. Take a swim in the cool waters or watch for the exquisite birdlife that inhabits the area. (BL)

Day 5: Mt Elizabeth Station – El Questro
Today we enjoy a guided station tour, visiting ancient Gwion (Bradshaw) and Wandjina art sites with our guide and host. Explore secluded waterholes and gorges. In the afternoon we arrive at the world renowned Emma Gorge Resort, at El Questro Station and Wilderness Park. (BLD)

Day 6: El Questro – Kununurra
See rare Aboriginal art before walking to Zebedee Springs. Here you can soak in the natural thermal pools, surrounded by lush ferns and palms. Admire dramatic Chamberlain Gorge, then hike into Emma Gorge, where there is time for a refreshing swim. You head to Kununurra this afternoon, the gateway to the Eastern Kimberley, where your tour concludes. (BL)
