Day 1: Hobart
After collecting your car you have a full day to explore the beautiful city of Hobart. The city has retained a vast number of 19th Century buildings, both public and private, which you can see at every turn. Visit Constitution Dock where the famous Sydney to Hobart yacht race finishes each year, Salamanca Markets and Mt. Wellington.

Day 2: HobartRichmond
Cross the Derwent River and head for Richmond, a historic village with many treasures of Tasmania’s colonial past. Travel onwards, via Sorrell, to Port Arthur where you can spend a few hours exploring the historical sites, a guided tour will provide an enthralling insight into the hardships endured by convicts. Don’t miss a visit to Bush Mill, a superb recreated pioneer settlement, complete with its own steam railway. (120km/75miles)

Day 3: RichmondFreycinet Peninsula
Travel along the east coast to Triabunna, a fishing village, before arriving at Swansea, a charming seaside town and a great stop for lunch. Travel onwards to the Freycinet Lodge where breakfast is included for your two-night stay. (262km/164miles)

Day 4: Freycinet Peninsula
A day at leisure to explore Freycinet.

Day 5: Freycinet Peninsula – Launceston
Enjoy a morning walk to the brilliant white sands of Wineglass Bay before continuing your drive on to St. Helens, a fishing port on the Georges Bay – if you like crayfish then this is the place for lunch! From St. Helens turn west and travel via Scottsdale to Launceston, Tasmania’s second largest city. (295km/184miles)

Day 6: Launceston
This city boasts extensive parks and gardens and sightseeing opportunities, which include the Planetarium in the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery. Alternatively, you can cruise on the Tamar River in a paddle steamer. Your hire car must be returned today prior to the time it was picked up on Day 1 to avoid any additional charges.
