Byron Bay Surf School

Tour A – 4 hrs

If those big rolling waves crashing in from the Pacific swells, fill you with thoughts of 'Pipeline' and 'Endless Summer', then here is your chance to live the dream and learn to surf. On this group lesson, learn about surf skills in a fun and safe environment, while all the time enjoying the sea-breeze and the fun of a new sport. The lessons will not only teach you the skills of surfing, but also teach you about the waves, the ocean, the rips and currents – everything that will help you understand and enjoy the sport and the water. By the end of your lesson, once you've mastered being pushed on to small 1 foot waves, you will have learned how to paddle out and catch your own waves for some long rides into the beach. Three and five day packages, which include two-and-a-half hours of surfing daily, as well as private lessons, are also available. These packages are designed to hone your recently developed skills even further and you will learn how to turn as well as trying some bigger waves. By the end of your lesson on Day 5 you'll be prepared to 'take the drop', opening up the ocean for many years of happy surfing. So go on, experience this quintessential Byron Bay pastime and you'll soon be out catching your own waves!

Prices from £22 per person for a 4 hour lesson, £50 per person for a 3-day package and £69 per person for a 5 day package. Lessons include all equipment including long or short wetsuit and surfboard, with a 'stand up and surf' guarantee.
