The Ghan

Departing Fri & Sun ex Adelaide, Mon & Wed ex Darwin, the Ghan is legendary, an unforgettable experience that follows the historical route of the Afghan camel trains & beyond. Travel from Adelaide, South Australia, up through the red centre, via Alice Springs, to Darwin in the Northern Territory. Choose "Red Kangaroo" for a seat, "Red Kangaroo Sleeper" for a cabin, or "Gold Kangaroo" for a superior ensuite cabin, meal, & refreshments included. A marvelous way to experience the vast & varied nature of Australia, you can break at Alice Springs & then rejoin The Ghan for your onward journey. Optional tours, payable locally, are available at Alice Springs & Katherine Gorge. The total distance is 3000km or more if you choose the optional extension on The Overland.
