Day 3: Tienhsiang - Taitung:
Proceed to Taitung to visit the East Coast National Scenic Area where mountain peaks and valleys meet the shores of the stunning ocean. A mini national park straddling two counties, the East Coast Scenic Area was for centuries, relatively isolated behind the Central Mountain Range and cut off from the urbanized areas in western Taiwan. It is also the historical home of the Ami tribe, renowned as excellent fisherman. Stop to explore Bachi Scenic Lookout, the Stone Steps and the Cave of the Eight Mortals. These caves, some of which contain Buddhist temples, feature beautiful coastal views and have been carved into the 100-metre-high cliff wall by the erosive action of the sea. Continue on to San-Hsien-Tan (Terrace of Three Mortals). Originally a peninsula connected to Taiwan, this small island's main draw is its natural rock and coral formations, three of which are said to resemble characters from Chinese mythology. Finally enjoy the chance to relax at the popular Chihpen Hot Springs where you overnight. (B)
Accommodation: Superior: Toong Mao Hot Spring Hotel (or similar), Deluxe: Hoya Hot Spring Resort (or similar)

Day 4: Taitung - Kenting:
Depart Chihpen Hot Springs for Kenting National Park, located on the Hengchun Peninsula. This is the southernmost point of Taiwan surrounded by the Pacific Ocean to the east, the Taiwan Strait to the west and the Bashi Channel to the south. Famous for its coral reefs, visit the whimsically named Maopitou - Cat Nose Rock, the lush tropical Kenting Forest Park and Eluanbi Lighthouse. Overnight in the small town of Kenting. (B)
Accommodation: Superior: Gaoshanching Hotel (or similar), Deluxe: Howard Beach Resort (or similar)

Day 6: Kaohsiung - Fokuangshan:
In the morning explore Kaohsiung city and visit a Confucian Temple and the seven-tiered Dragon and Tiger Pagodas. Continue to Cheng Ching Lake, which means ‘crystal clear’, as its mirror-like green waters reflect the nearby mountains.
