Day 1: Kuala Lumpur – Cameron Highlands:
Depart Kuala Lumpur in the morning. Your journey to the Cameron Highlands, a mountain retreat and the centre of Malaysian tea production, takes you to an altitude of 1,500-1,800m above sea level. Vegetables grow in profusion and flowers bloom everywhere in the cooler weather. Check into your hotel and enjoy a free afternoon, before dinner at Scottish Ye Old Smokehouse for an experience of the country’s Colonial era. (D)

Day 2: Cameron Highlands – Lumut – Pangkor:
Today visit a tea plantation and central market before continuing on to the coastal town of Lumut (Tea plantation closed Mon). Off the west coast lie two islands: Pangkor, the main island, and the smaller Pangkor Laut (see page 57). These islands are blessed with lush rainforest interspersed with sweeping bays with fine sandy beaches. The majority of the main island's inhabitants are fisherfolk. From Lumut you will take a boat to these islands to rest and enjoy their beauty. (BL)

Day 3: Pangkor:
Whole day at leisure

Day 4: Pangkor – Kuala Lumpur (or Penang):
Depart Pangkor at noon on Berjaya Air for a 40-minute flight to Subang Airport in Kuala Lumpur (flights do not operate on Mon or Sat). From Subang you will be transferred to KL International Airport or your hotel. Alternatively, once back in Lumut you can travel northbound to Penang (approx. three hours) and be dropped off at any of our Penang hotels. This tour can also be operated in reverse. (BL)
