This picturesque rail journey offers flexibility and freedom to travel independently from a group tour and explore some of China’s biggest sights en-route. A certain amount of self-reliance is needed as there is no tour guide, however many will experience a sense of achievement and excitement from this train journey.

Departures:
Every second day

Day 1: Depart Hong Kong:
This afternoon board the K100 train at 1500hrs for your overnight journey to Shanghai. Your sleeping compartment is based on a shared 4-berth cabin.

Day 2: Arrive Shanghai:
Arrive in Shanghai at 1338hrs where you will be transferred to your chosen hotel. You are then free to spend the day exploring this ever developing and stunning city, taking in sights such as the Bund and Yuygan Garden. We recommend booking some sightseeing tours to maximise your time see page 99 for the options on offer.
Accommodation: Tourist: Jiulong Hotel, Premium: Ocean Hotel

Day 3-5: Shanghai:
After your time exploring Shanghai and all that it has to offer, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred back to the train station for your 1619hr departure. Spend overnight on the train travelling on to Xian.

Day 6: Xian:
Arrive in Xian this morning at 0903hrs where you will be transferred to your chosen hotel. Explore this beautiful city independently or part of a tour. Sights include the nearby Terracotta Warriors and Big Goose Pagoda.

Day 7: Xian-Beijing:
This evening at 1923 transfer from your hotel back to the train station for your onward journey to Beijing.

Day 8: Beijing:
Arrive in Beijing train station this morning at 0653hs where your journey will end.
